Ok, so I’m fairly new to Horizon 3 and i’ve been trying to tune a Renault 5 Turbo for just under a day now and it’s driving me insane. I’ll try to be as concise as possible with information to make things as easy as possible (hopefully).
So far, my Renault 5 Turbo is using the 3.0L V8 and Twin Turbo’s. It’s an AWD rocket ship with a top speed of 210 mph (with my current tune), 0-60 mph in 3.2, and 0-100 mph in 5.9. For its tier at 761 A class, I was really surprised at how it performs. Every engine part, brake part, and transmission part is fully upgraded. The tire sizes are 245/45R13 front and 295/40R14 rear. The tire compound is stock because I can’t race S1+ tier cars reliably yet, nor do I wish to leave A class.
As for my tune it’s as follows:
-
Tires : Front PSI - 32.0 / Rear PSI 32.0
-
Gearing : Final Drive - 3.05 / 1st - 4.79 / 2nd - 2.87 / 3rd - 2.06 / 4th - 1.59 / 5th - 1.30 / 6th - 1.10
-
Alignment : Camber - Front negative 1 degree / Rear negative 1 degree / Toe - Front and Rear are 0 degrees / Front Caster - Angle is 5.0
-
Anti-Roll Bars : Front 23.60 / Rear 25.74
-
Springs : Front - 602.3 / Rear - 687 / Ride Height - 3 above minimum
-
Damping : Rebound - Front 10.2 / Rear 16.9 / Bump Stiff. Front 4.5 / Rear 7.5
-
Aero : Front 72 / Rear 130
-
Brake : Balance 50% / Pressure 70%
-
Differential : Front - Accel. 50% / Decel. 10% / Rear - Accel. 65% / Decel. 10% / Center Balance 60%
Now that the tune is out of the way I can finally ask questions about it.
-
The vehicle gets extremely “squirrely” when taking corners due to what I can only guess is the poor tires quality and inproper alignment/spring setup. Is there a way to get a little more handling from the vehicle without risking the top speed?
-
Do the gearing ratio’s seem alright? I don’t know much about the mechanics of it, but from what i’ve heard having a(n) even curve is best?
Other then the two questions I’m open for any other opinions/tips with the tuning I have. Also, in case I don’t come back to the post in time thank you very much for reading and helping me out in advance.
