Can someone please explain to me how these leaderboards work?
I race in a homologated public lobby. After the race, between races I’m given a brief period of time to check the leaderboards for my times.
Yet, when I check the leaderboards in “Free Play” (the only way I Know how to check the leaderboards outside of the multiplayer lobby) none of my times show up - in fact it seems most of the times displayed there are over four months old.
Checking from a non-homologated lobby just shows the fastest times from all classes, which is not helpful.
What exactly am I doing wrong, or is this just something that was botched from the onset and everyone has given up on?
No friction assist, and clean laps are the only ones I expect to show up there.
Are the leaderboards you see between races different than the leaderboards you see in the Freeplay section? The Freeplay section is the ONLY way I know how to even check the leaderboards.
If you are quick enough to see the post race leaderboard in multiplayer and you indeed set a personal best for that race, that time will also show up in free play. The trick with free play is that you need to be in a car that is homologated to the same division you just raced. It is entirely possible you did not set a personal best in multiplayer unless by chance you are in ghost lobbies.
In normal multiplayer with full collisions it can be a challenge to set clean lap times. That’s probably why your times are so old. You may have ran a faster lap but that lap was dirty and a dirty lap will never trump a clean lap no matter how slow the clean lap may be.
The game does not track class based leaderboards. This feature in other Forza games was completely scrapped in favor of homologation. It’s been noted many times that this was a huge mistake by T10. People want both. There was a lot of yelling and screaming about the lack of any class based leaderboards but it’s died down probably due to fatigue and just giving up.
I noticed the same problem today. After racing in ghost lobby today l went to free play to check some times on the lbs and to hotlap to improve them.
None of the times of the lobby were transferred to the “free play leaderboards” and they didn’t show any time for the same tracks at all like l’ve never raced there before.
You are the smart aleck of the day, aren’t you. It should be self-evident in FM7, that l can’t see my early prototype leaderboard time while sitting in an Abarth 500 esseesse.
It also is logical, that when l want to improve my mp lobby lap time in free play that l am using the same homologation divisIon, so l am obviously and inevitably in the car of the wanted division.
Again, not one single multiplayer time is showing up on free play leaderboards. And to keep it clear, even for you, l am in the same car and l want to see and improve the same track environment and layout lap times. No assists were used in mp lobby either, especially no friction assist.
The thing is when I check the leaderboard right after a homologated race (specifically Muscle Car Rebirth) and it says I have a number 1 time among 4000+ players. Pretty cool, I think, yet when I check from outside that lobby (using the Freeplay section, race setup) none of my times are listed there, and if they are they’re 4 months old.
This makes all the leaderboards rather useless, IMO.
I never seen anything not working with leaderbords in fm7. AND yes I do race in legues and custom multiplayer. And yes I am a fanboy. And yes you need to be playing Fm7 to see FM7 leaderbords.
