I just posted the following message in the Xbox One support thread:
I’m very patient and don’t mind waiting for them to fix things, but there’s so much wrong and things keep adding up it’s getting really frustrating. My apologies for the rage above but I wanted to get it of my chest.
I’m posting it here too since I’m not sure if that was the right place and I’d also like to know if anyone knows a workaround for this problem.
It would be much appreciated.
I ran into a similar issue doing the Zakspeed Viper from the 24hrs of Nurburgring- there’s a stripe that goes along the upper side of the car, right to the back end. When I do that on the car in H3, the back end of it doubles itself onto the rear bumper. Pretty annoying, yes.
(1) In that particular case, there’s no way that will ever be fixed. In cases like this where there are vents or openings, there’s no possible way to place two vinyls in the same position but at different depths (which is what it would take to cover that area). So you’ll just have to learn to work around it.
(2) There are many vehicles in the game with much worse paint/vinyl glitches than that one. That one’s not such a big deal to work around.
(3) Forza games have had these glitches for years and for the most part, they never get fixed. They have been reported many times by multiple users year after year and nothing is done.
(4) T10 is notoriously bad about not listening to or communicating with the community.
Best to just work around that particular glitch and move on if you ask me. No use in getting that upset and frustrated about it.
Thank you for responding. I’m aware of 2 & 4 and already guessed 1 & 3. It’s just out of everything I ran into and being very patient, this one broke the camel’s back.
However, you’re mentioning to work around it. How do you suggest to do so/how can I accomplish that?
Hey Steve,
Yes there are a lot of paintable area mistaskes/glitches… and because of it not all replica’s or idea’s will be perfectly done, so either work with it or around it… I have come across a couple myself but it never stops me from moving forward… maybe side stepping a few steps
I think I would just leave it as is or perhaps put a gradiënt in so the grey gradually flows into the white (over a small area).
Thanks for answering. I just tried finishing it without changing anything, and I might be able to leave it as is. However I’d like to try your suggestion of using a gradient. I’ve tried it with a square but I think I’m not doing the right thing to get it right. Could you maybe elaborate a little more on this?
Thanks for helping!
I’ve also encountered a paint glitch in FH3, when I apply the TDF stripe to the Ferrari TDF it looks perfect on, but when I exit out of paint mode and get on the street the roof portion of the stripe is all jacked up. This happens on the roof of the older Nissan fairlady, I tried to black out the roof and again in paint mode and forza vista it looks fine but when I exit to the street there is a big square missing. I’ve tried to apply multiple layers to just this one spot but no matter what when you exit to street it’s glitches. Hope this gets fixed or something. I’d like to rock a stripe on my TDF with out it looking like ■■■.
Don’t hold your breath for a fix. I can’t remember T10/PG fixing a paint/vinyl gitch since FM5 came out. Most of the time, when a car has a glitch, it stays there even from game to game in the series.
Glitches… which is why the Leo Vegas logo is different on mine. The distortion on the upper doors is a killer, but we work our way around things.
It’s got to be said that there were horrible glitches on the F12 in Forza 5 and Horizon 2 that were fixed for F6 and H3.
I’m also finding that the horrible misplaced glitching on the R8 sides at the wheel arches are gone and sorted too.
No real comment from me other then that’s why I don’t paint much anymore every game as issues that they seem to miss but they love collecting our money for a game not thoroughly checked over. To be honest I think FH3 is my last game I can’t paint around or make changes when these things should’ve been fixed 10 years ago when they began and they get worse each game.
The Fairlady Z roof is a bad one, and the Ford GT HE roof is another. We should make a list, they probably don’t even know. Right now I’m working on a Ferrari Stradale and the side is glitch… putting anything past the left door crease it just disappears
