Khronoe's Forza Horizon 5 Portfolio

I started playing Forza with FH4 in the Spring of '21 and didn’t do very much photography. I was so engaged in playing the game that photography wasn’t a focus. In FH5 however, I feel like every time I drive 10 feet in Free Roam I need to take a picture. Kudos to the devs, this world is breath taking. So with that, here is my gallery. I hope I can live up to the expectations of the community since I’ve just started engaging here. I’ve also included the Share Codes if you want to check them out in game. I love feedback as well, so feel free, it will only help improve my shots. I hope you enjoy!

All photos displayed are posted as they were shot with no alterations and linked from my Lightroom gallery that I’ve created for this project. I’m considering enhancing a few of them to post as well.

I’m also including a link to my Forza Horizon 5 Lightroom gallery for this project.

awesome shot!

Thanks!! I was really happy with how that one turned out too. One of my favorites.

I like the landscape shots, you frame the pictures quite well. Some feedback if I may, for the more focused shots you may want to add some aperture to give more depth to the photo, and play around with the color settings a bit. I’ll be checking for more!

Thanks for the compliment and feedback! Thanks for catching the aperture! I looked for it one day and missed it. Between the kids and the side effects of my daily meds, I completely overlook things sometimes and tips like this make me go hunting again because I know I’ve glossed over it somewhere. Just looked and it was staring me right in the face this whole time, lmao. If I can stop playing the game long enough, I might go back and tweak them in Lightroom and put them up in a different post.

Jumping on the bandwagon to say your landscapes are really good! Agree with your statement that this game is visually beautiful everywhere you look, I’m in awe every time I play

In some of your car shots, the background feels really harsh because the aperture is so low. Might be worth trying some higher values and see what it does

Some suggestions:

  1. Always keep sampling set to Quality!!
  2. Turn up the aperture a bit for still shots of cars. At first, this appears to ruin the photo, but when you return to Photo mode and focus on the subject (by pressing X on the controller), it will keep the subject clear and slightly blur the background, which will give transform your pictures.
  3. Try setting the focus mode to Panning for your action shots. It’s kinda hard to explain what it does in words, you just have to see for yourself.
  4. Turning up the sepia basically mimics what would happen if you took a picture with sunglasses in front of the lenses. Vignette will darken the corners of your pictures. I like to use a little bit of both.
  5. Turn the exposure up or down depending on the in-game time of day. Exposure basically increases or decreases the size of your camera’s “pupil”, adjusting the amount of light recognized by the camera.
  6. Try to keep zoom close to 1.0 for most pictures.
  7. Try to balance the amount of car in the photo versus the amount of scenery.
Here are some of my own photos:
    FH5-Aventador-SVJ-1
    FH5-SVJ-2

    Lambo-Street-Race-1
Note the aperture in the first 2 pictures and the sepia & vignette of the third.

I usually prefer to do still shots, but here are some of my action shots:
