I’ve seen various people lose their files randomly, so I was just wondering if its possible just in case something bad happens.
it should be automatically saved to the cloud. thats why your xbox occasionally says syncing. i dont think usb fobs or external harddrives are suported yet but i think they will be soon. forced game installs mean people that buy alot of games will soon run out of space on a 500 gig internal hdd. (362 actually because some is reserved for the os and stuff). infact there were enough games before tomb raider released to fill the hdd allotment. the real money is in software sales not hardware sales.
A Forza gamesave can only exist in one location at a time so it is not physically possible for you as a user to create a backup except via means that absolutely will get your console banned. The system will back up what it does via the cloud and that remains your only hope should something go wrong with the save on your console. The ability to backup your physical save for Forza will not be coming, now or at any time in the foreseeable future due to the abuse that would assuredly take place.
Honestly, unlike prior Forza games. I don’t see how people could abuse anything in FM5, since there’s no way to distribute currency (gifting gone, auction house gone…). I may be wrong, but I really doubt so.

Okay i get that, thanks. So you’re saying that it is at least on the console itself not only the cloud right? I just have the fear that it will disappear one day randomly like I’ve been hearing happen to quite a few people.
The save is on your console and sync with the cloud at certain intervals (not sure how often) - they may not be exactly the same but as long as you are online often your cloud save should be close to your console save.
I don’t mind losing the game progress save. It is the loss of the paints/decals thats the real pain. The thought of putting in 10+ hours into a car for the 2nd time is not a fun prospect.
That said, not sure if it is possible to download your own paint/decal then save/edit it . . .
It is NOT possible to save parts of the game either. The same rules apply. All items are saved within the area of the saved game, therefore if you attempted to introduce something changed externally, you would have a tampered profile and it would not function.
