Okay, they might be slightly different problems. I’ve had the disappearing bits persist at low speed once the problem has started. I’ve only ever seen it happen after hours of playing, like there’s some sort of progressive memory problem, e.g. memory leaks, that takes a while to accumulate to a level that causes visible problems. I think I’ve only experienced it about 3 times in 160 hours of playing.
Looks like you’re experiencing this. Not my video but the driver has a regular Xbox One;
…which is an issue I’ve noticed to varying degrees since Forza Horizon 2. Although the bug used to maintain your speed rather than stop you outright.
Are you installed on the internal drive? A poor performing external harddrive can really affect the texture and model streaming.
Internal drive only.
I don’t use an external drive.
(Digital download from Xbox Live.)
(Edit: I also quit the game every time I close it and I restart my Xbox once a week from the menu.)
Looks like some sort of rendering glitch, where it hasn’t rendered the rest of the map properly and assumes there’s no more… thus bringing you to a complete stop, till it renders/resets that part of the map properly.
@retrokrystal did what I asked above and shared two different videos.
It literally just happened again so I am sending that one after it has uploaded. This time it happened while driving along “the Roman mile” stretch of road.
I experienced that same issue a few times as well whenever I was driving around 240 mph or so. I decided to transfer the game onto the external hard drive. From that time, I never experience that issue again. I have Xbox one S.
I don’t have an external hard drive but will give it a shot thanks.
It annoys me more because of how frequently it happens. It happens at least 4 times a session for me and has got to the point I utterly hate the game. At the start I really did think playground games had cracked it and made the perfect racing/exploration game but it’s just broken.
I honestly want to trade it in but my fiance bought me the ultimate edition and that would just be rude. It’s gutting though because it honestly feels like she has been ripped off and I just have to pretend all is okay.
I was getting it using rewind quite frequently. Happened a lot when I was pushing my McLaren F1 on the highway speed trap. I think it actually might be a rewind bug?
I used to play with a radio based internet back in the old Forza days and lag manifests itself as other players flying around erratically.
Just seen that this post was marked as being investigated. Thank you for looking into the matter and can’t wait to get back to enjoying this game how it should be.
If anyone else has any captures or video of the issue which moderator should it be sent to? More data hopefully will result in a more detailed fix.
You can submit your captures alongside submitting a ticket here.
The team are still looking into the cause of this issue
Been there, Have a clip, now If I could figure out how to get it from Xbox Live to Here, or a message -
It was an Konegsssgsissisgssgss Agrera - yeah, I butchered that name. Going for a Speed Trap, Came flying off a hill
I’m playing on a Xbox One - Forza 6 Edition with the motor sounds when you turn it on. Wired Ethernet, 100mbps Internal HD, with 25% free space.
I haven’t experienced it either.
Did a blue print race of a friend’s that’s relatively high speed, getting over 270 mph on the 4 lane. Yet this same friend has this issue. He’s even posted a video of getting to nearly 270 at the windmills jump, hits the jump, just about over the next road, in air, and his car stops and drops straight down.
In video, you can see parts of map glitch/flicker(I’ve seen this from time to time but never causes an issue)
SETUP: Xbox one X. Wired connection- both internet and controller to console, internal HD with well over 50% free space, very fast internet, no issues with network. I exit the game properly each time I am finished and shut down the console correctly. My Xbox One X is situated in an open location with plenty of air circulation/ventilation.
I experience this random freezing where the road disappears, the scenery goes all white and my car will not move, quite often as well.
Sometimes, when I see this coming, I can reverse and keep going for a bit, but eventually it will happen. Funny thing, though, even though I cannot move my car while the game is frozen, other cars keep moving both during a race or while roaming. It is interesting to watch me fall from whatever place I am in to last place while the other AI cars keep improving their position.
Sometimes I can do several hour sessions for 3 or 4 days in a row without an issue. Other times, I get this issue every 10 to 15 minutes.
No rhyme or reason. Happens with multiple cars in various classes. Also can happen while in a race or just going from one point to another on the map.
It happens in both Live mode as well as solo mode.
Sometimes I can exit the game properly from the ‘freeze’, other times I cannot. Sometimes I can shut down the console via the menu button on the controller. Other times I have to manually shut down the console.
In any event, only a cold start will solve the issue, regardless of how I have exited the game or shut down the console. I have to unplug the console for a period of time and then restart,
Further on, I have done all of the MS suggestions, including redownloading the game, re initializing the console (ie the OS), deleting all of my local game saves and allowing a re sync.
I have changed out the controller twice as well as the cable from the console to the controller several times.
What I have not done yet is download the game on my old XBox One. Fwiw, the ONLY issue I ever had on the old XBox One in terms of the game crashing happened when scrolling through the car menu in Forza 7. In that case, the game would reboot. I have had the odd minor stuttering in various games but never a complete freeze or major crash.
I have not tried moving the game to an external drive yet, either.
As much as I love doing the Weekly Forzathon event that require the multimillion skill points, I now worry every time I start one (and especially as I near the goal) that the game will freeze and I will have lost all that time invested.
I’ve encountered this problem as well.
I play on a normal Xbox One with 500GB HDD (The one that came with the Halo Master Chief Collection), WLAN (100Mbit/s), 25% space on HDD still available, Digital Download of FH4 with Game Pass. The Problem mostly occurs when I am about to hit 400Km/h (250mph) with any car.
Yea I’m not happy with FH4 either also on 2nd note, game should not even be made for Xbox one anymore. Only xbox X and up. Either keep up or get left behind.
This is happening to me on an XBox One X, so …
Nice attempt at triggering but grown ups are trying to fix a problem.
Tatty bye.
I’m sorry, that grown up bit made me chuckle, given your GT😁
