As the title state: In multiplayer lobbies, when using a headset, I’m able to hear everyone perfectly fine, but no one can hear me. I have the kinect chat disabled (even though the headset overrides it anyway). When I’m in a private game lobby - game chat, everyone can hear me fine. Also, when I’m in a private chat I can be heard fine, so I know it’s not an issue with my headset.
Anyone else experience this? I’m tired of sending messages to people when they are trying to talk to me!
Happens all the time. It’s funny when only some people can hear and talk back and others you can’t hear. Had one lobby where everybody was relaying messages from one person through a middle man who could hear and talk to everyone to the intended recipient. It’s a mess.
Yeah, I hadn’t seen anything here about it. Pretty frustrating, but glad to know that it’s not just me. Typically most people are holding conversations and I feel like the only one left out lol.
Im also going through this issue. Keep in mind my party chat is on.
If I join a lobby with the headset disconnected, even if I connect it, they won’t hear me. For them to hear me, i’d have to connect the headset before joining the lobby.
This might be a slightly different issue. When people can’t hear me but I can hear them, I see their green light come on when they talk, but mine doesn’t come on when I talk.
I have tried the unplug/plug back in trick and it never seems to work. I’ve also tried having my headset plugged in when the console is off, and still nothing. There are issues with party chat too, so I guess it’s not just Forza that’s having problems. Although, when I played Titanfall, I have had 0 issues with game chat.
It’s nice to be able to apologize if you accidentally bump someone. Then they’re less likely to wreck you on purpose when they get behind you again. I’ve had times where I just race someone hard, touch them and back off, then clean pass them, and they still purposely wreck you in the next corner. Sometimes a little honest communication clears things up quickly…if your mic works…smh
If it was that easy I would have figured it out and saved a post.
That does not work for me.
Nothing works, other than unless going into some settings I don’t know about.
edit: okay I saw your clarification. That’s not simple. I want a fix not to be able to text strangers and have them mess with their controllers. A permamnent solution to the problem that many users are having, if anyone has that… thanks.
Please note I did not say that you redo your headset. The other people need to do their’s. The people that can’t hear need to reset not the people that can’t be heard. This fix only seems to work in the lobby not in party chat.
I have been encountering this problem recently. The quality of sound is also very poor at times .The problem seems to be getting worse as the weeks go by. The first week i played it was fine. Now its intermittent from day to day. The issue definitely needs addressing.
I’v been having the same issues for 3 days now. I can hear some people in multiplayer lobbies, and thier green mic comes on when they talk, yet nobody can hear me nomadder what and my mic icon doesnt flash green at all either. It seems to work fine in party chat though. PLEASE FIX ASAP! its really hard to race without chatting.
I am unable to connect my kinect as the lead is too short. So far there is no extension lead available. I cannot get anything through my headset and no one can hear me. I’m guessing this is due to not running kinect??
Success! I have admitted defeat and draped the Kinect lead across the front of my lounge (which looks messy and means I can’t close my media centre doors) so now my connect is up and running. My headset now also seems to play ball. I do wonder however how much product testing went on with the XBoxLive party set up. We found it really quite poor, although online gaming connectivity was much improved over the 360. Can’t wait to get my hands on a headset adaptor for my turtle beaches next month.
My goodness please fix this ASAP! So annoying when you have to relay messages or when you have an epic battle with someone and you can see them talking but cant hear them.
Also since the latest update the unplug replug mic thing doesnt work for me and who ever is the one the cant be heard has to leave the lobby and rejoin. The most annoying this is because theres no recent players or server list you have 1% chance you get back into that good server you were just in.
I had this issue several times. Happened we I would be playing in career then get invoted to a party. I found that if I turned off the controller, plugged in the headset and then turned the controller bck on I could hear and be heard. Hope this helps anyone else.
I figured out my issue with the mic. If I join a lobby without the mic connected to my controller, even if i connect it while i’m in the lobby, it won’t work. For it to work, I have to have the mic connected to my controller before joining a lobby. Then it works perfectly. All other games the mic works great. It has to be a small bug. Hope it’s fixed soon.
I have the same problem I can hear them just fine but no one can hear me. my name even lights up when I talk but still no one can hear me, but I works fin in titanfall and in parties
