The dash works in the demo so how many miles do you all have on your Porsche? I am very close to 900 miles. This was my car I was using to set up my FFB on the wheel. The other 2 are no where near this amount though.
I was over 100 at the point I noticed it was working, but haven’t looked since. I’ve put quite a few miles on the truck as well because I love Mugello. The Nissan is my least used.
I only did each race once. There was no compelling reason to continue. The only vehicle I liked in the demo was the truck. Mind you, I didn’t have any trouble with the Porsche’s handling like others have reported, it’s just not a car I’m interested in. And I actually liked Dubai. But without progress attached, there’s no good reason to repeatedly sit through that loading, much less the (allegedly skippable) annoying ad splash that it could’ve just shown once and then remembered that you’ve seen it and never shown again.
I also could not find any real reason to keep playing the Demo, I downloaded it, installed it, tried it, then I reformatted due to some niggling issues and intermittent BSOD’s and didn’t bother reinstalling it, the splash ad at the end is not that much of a bother really, I just spam enter on PC as soon as it shows up and it bypasses to the purchase options.
What I did find rather off-putting was the fact I could only run 2 laps of either event then jump through a bunch of hoops to restart, also no progress or reward for putting in more time, the Demo served its purpose imo … I pre-ordered the UE after I tried it and that was that
PS: Dubai is an awesome track and I am looking forward to trying many cars there personally
I really hated the Porsche, so I did maybe 6 rounds.
In fact, I hated the controls (for the Porsche) that much that I planned to skip the title until the first community feedback after release. But the body is strong and the mind is weak… so I preordered the Ultimate edition again…
I’m still convinced the car handling is way off of the RL version, the weight transfer just felt so wrong, missing any momentum. Maybe I buy an elite controller which allows to tweak the analogue axis to my taste.
To me the decade-old Richard Burns Rally (2004) and DTM Race Driver 3/Toca Race Driver 3 (2006) are still the reference when it comes to realism and feeling of the handling.
4 laps
Just done another race or two and had a look again. 853km!
Just over 408 km in the porshe.
27 I think, ive only done 6 laps cause I’m waiting for it to matter to put time into it
