Well you guys down in the 1:38s r safe for now lol. Got a lil mini vacation this weekend and I’m done running, think I ended up at 140:7xx had a few 139s dirty… Have fun fellas
Enjoy your time Don! You’ve had some really good runs.
I am also off (without my box) for a short weekend trip, so, trying to see if I can squeeze one good run before taking off.
.
Great times, Dyno Don! Have a good one!

I finally got some time to work on my fiesta and I must say w/ a perfect lap I may hit 38’s soon. When does the comp end?
This Sunday at midnight GMT. 2 whole days
Trying out some of youz guyz tunes. Just hit PB of 1:41.409 with Moss’ Cosmo. Very nice car! I’m sloppy, but I’m learning the track and getting better with the clutch. Hopefully I can have some good time to put in tomorrow.
Coming for ya Snowman!!! Lol
Uh oh…Here comes Zepp! LOL!

thanx snowman. i wasnt expecting to break 1.41 so im suprised too. your so close you can get it too but any way it goes we improved from where we started and had fun along the way. next week can be a different story lol.
Still trying to be a rebel, lol. Gave a '49 Merc a shot, got it down to the 1:43 range, a Subaru Brat, again in the 1:43s. Gonna give a few more cars a go after a while. Gotta do my weekend chores, lol.
Hey, no intention of hijacking the thread, but I’ve been thinking of giving another drag comp a shot. I’m familiar with you guys and trust all of you as far as being good guys that’ll keep if fair, with legit times and whatnot. Thought give a heads up and see if anybody is up for it. Like the last ones, it wouldn’t be a rushed, big time crunch. Just something over the next little while to work on for a change up.
If there seems to be some interest, hoping for at least 10 entries, I will put something together. Again, sorry for “thread abuse”, haha.
Sign me up, Zepp!
Snowman
Just start a new thread Zepp, I’m sure you’ll get enough takers
Yeah, sorry Moss. Like I said, didn’t mean to impose. I’ll start up a thread once I figure out what I’m doing.
Thanks for the drive Snowman. I agree with your thoughts on that Torana. I haven’t messed with it since that evening. If your wanting some more challenges, you could give your twist on a Brat and a Merc. Both have a surprising amount of grip. I built both with stock engines and was able to fit race tires. Both could use maybe a little more power, but they both also surprised me with the 1:43s. Not lightning, but still fun. As far as collaborating, I’m cool with that, but I’m no where near the tuner these guys are. But I can make a car look cool, lol!! Again, I’m no HLR Moss!! But if ya want simple, I can do that, lol.
Oh well no 39 club for me!
'73 T/A = 1:40.060 - Fastest I could get around the track clean or dirty. I can put a 3 car length lead on my ghost only to piss it all away by the line, or I can be three lengths back and run my ghost down. Just can’t put two halves of the track together for what should be a 1:39.8.
Interesting result with this track was that two very different builds were almost identical. The 5.1 grip build ran the 1:40.060 but I could routinely put a 5.7 grip build (specs similar to the Cosmo) in at 1:40.125. I suspect the grip version had more in it but I spent too much time with the 5.1 grip build that I just kept over braking out of habit. Another interesting find was that the 5.1 grip car was 1 sec faster with high aero setting while the grip car was 1 sec faster with minimum aero settings. That is the opposite of what I typically find where a track that has long enough straits to favor power it usually favors low drag while the track that favors grip wants favors more grip. It makes sense that the track could favor aero with the long left hand sweeper preceding the strait and the long right hander leaving the strait. The grip car was heavy with very little HP and just needed to free up some extra power to keep it from topping out prematurely - it was hard to use all the grip it had anyway.
I got close in a friends Cosmo @ 1:40.2 but I spent too much time learning the track from the left seat and it was just too difficult to adapt to those right hand drive cars (Cosmo, Elan, Torana). The line was just too critical on this stinkin’ track for me to make the switch.
F-100 showed promise, I was running 1:40.9s in a flash tune! Wish I had the time to really tune it up. I’m supersized the Bronco and Jeep didn’t make a showing.
Where we going next?
Crash
Final time for this HLC from me:
1.37.963 #13 in the World
Big thanks to HLR Moss for the tune
So what’s the next track? I really want to put this disappointment behind me. Lol.
OK guys, Crash and Swerve have asked where we are off next. I suppose there’s no harm in letting you know early
For the next HLC we are off to Daytona Infield but with a dramatic increase in pace to P class. No restrictions again and the event will end at Midnight on Sunday, 7th August. I’ll announce the prizes later
I thought this would get Crash out of his TAs LOL.
