@WhiteBurrito42 I see you like that mode
5 games in, 4 Guanajuato, 1 Playa. All as seeker.
3 loses, 2 wins. In 2 games Iāve not seen hider at all. In one game he was hidden so well that whole team couldnāt find him and he just waited until final zone showed up.
Radar is not as powerful as I thought, but still would prefer no radar (seeker)/no player icons (hider). As a perk it would be ok.
And without radars I think we could add 2nd perk for hider ā car switch. Probably wouldnāt work well for someone with weaker PC (āchange carā used to take 10+sec before my PC upgrade).
Overall: Iāve fun with that mode. Maybe not great, but definitely would rate it positively. Definitely like it more than paricipation trophy PGG. Probably a bit too dynamic for me at this moment (OP strat is just running away)
EDIT: first game as a hider (won) at Playa, was just doing circles around ācityā. Probably would lost, but there was only 1 seeker Rest left in first 30seconds.
EDIT2: āchase breakerā is brutal, IMO power cut would be enough. For ppl that donāt know - now it stops the car.
I thought I would test it out a bit.
Hi !
I played my first Hide & Seek just now and was wondering : How are we supposed to trigger the find for the Hider ?
We were 3 cars on him, hitting & bumping him but he still was marked as a target. In the end we lost and i donāt know what we did wrong.
I wonder if he cheated or not.
So I have played it a bit. Overall I found it entertaining. Itās a lot like a complicated version of infected.
The seeker scoring isnāt clear. I think seeker proximity to the hider while the hider is pinged makes the biggest score. Otherwise I didnāt notice the score moving much. Itās possible thereās more to it though. Sometimes it seems like it takes a lot.
I settled on the Lancer Evo as the chase car. Itās pretty balanced for on and off road and has decent accel when hit with the chase breaker.
And chase breaker works from the tunnels when the seekers are above.
I played 5 games last night, all as the seeker. Got lucky with the site distribution and got that Accolade as well as the 20 Smactus one. I canāt say I really enjoyed, nor disliked this mode. I wonāt go out of my way to avoid it when it is one of the weekly playlist events, but I also cannot see me playing this often, either. I do enjoy the Playground Games (especially capture the flag) more than Hide and Seek.
A post was merged into an existing topic: Hide & Seek Bug - license plate resets
another game type am force to play. that i have zero want. but it force into the seasonā¦
Knowing the danger of possibly being the minority here I have to exclaim that I actually enjoy this game mode. Didnāt expect it to do so at first, but itās good that the hider, the lone fighter, has the advantage - if they know what theyāre doing. And that the Team really has to work together to win.
This is how a 1vsAll should be
And I just Love hiding in plain sight, acting As npc traffic or such.
Please excuse me as I simply enjoy hiding games, always have. What can I say - I had one of those old school childhoods
Itās not the next new big thing, but itās something. Something I and probably others enjoy. A little overhyped maybe, but what isnāt these days
update:
At this point I must have done 30 more games. Not single one of them was as a hider
Catching hider seems inconsistent. Sometimes it takes seconds to win, sometimes it takes ages. One time we have nailed hider to the wall, he have not used āchase breakerā and we was just standing there for minute with three other seekers.
Perks - chase breaker is so annoying :sigh:. But Iāve to say that āpingā is too strong too(???). Like, Iāve found convoy of ānpcā cars. There was like 6 or 7 cars and Iāve just used āpingā to find out if hider is one of them. Maybe it is not as OP as seekerās perk, but maybe it should work only when hider is running?
Cars - RWD cars are a misunderstanding for that mode. Or maybe Iām missing something?
I also donāt recommend picking Toyota AT as a seeker. Every time Iāve picked it my teammates thought Iām the hider
Radar - after playing some more, I think it can stay, but now Iāve two other suggestions.
1.seekers bar shouldnāt empty or at least a bit slower.
2.(the more important IMO if there will be no change to chase breaker/radar) change game times from 4/4min to 6/2min. The final run usually ends within 1st minute for me + it feels almost impossible to stop hider on the run.
So, just finished my first go at H&S - wasnāt the worst thing ever, but Iāll be honest I had no real idea what I was doing beyond the obvious.
I was the Hider, ok - little bars at the bottom, and a woeful voiceover giving me next-to-no information about how to interpret them. I had a general idea from this forum, and itās not exactly complicated, but a little more explanation in the build-up would have been nice.
I hid, got found, ran away, found again, and so forth - then I had to make to the end zone (?) at which point I gotā¦ caught? found? and I lost, apparently.
Iāll probably have another go later (with a beer inside me for clarity), itās better than I expected but I canāt see me being a regular at this mode.
and now people are using glitched spot
how to get in there at 8:22
@T10ManteoMax am I supposed to āticket itā or can you forward it?
Hello @ziperrPL . Please add this to the troubleshooting hub. Thank you.
Hi @ziperrPL . If i remember correctly, if you exit this game mode before the end of the match, youāll be locked out for a limited time. Do not quit your game and play until the end.
yhmm, ok
I was DCed, but thanks for info
EDIT: troubleshooting hub thread ā Hide & Seek Bug and glitch
As expected, the new game doesnāt do much to incentivise players. 12 games in a row and not picked as hider. Seeking for 12 games straight is frustrating to say the least. I think Iāll be aiming for accolades and then be done.
So just like the Eliminator, Hide and Seek is just something that im just not interested inā¦ to be suggested to do it just for achievements and accolades without any real rewards is not ideal for someone who has gotten every car that is currently available (not including the current months new cars)
I can understand if this was added as a game type for Playground Games, but not as fully fledged game modeā¦
I would have preferred if they put the effort that they used for this game mode into more races (road and off road) and a custom championship mode just like there was in FH3
I would have played it for an exclusive car
Nothing wrong with enjoying the game mode and wanting it in the game in my eyes.
My only issue with the situation is that stuff like this is getting prioritized over custom championships.
I want to play an open world simulation racing game so badly. Having genuine downtime with cars, exploration freedom, driving on ārealā roads instead of a racetrack, the dynamic challenge of street racing, the generally higher variety of cars and gameplay, and the generally higher amount of allowed creativity attract me far more to open world racing games than their more restrictive counterparts.
The problem is that at the end of the day the primary activity I want to do in these worlds is race. But racing in Horizon is worse than itās ever been. Open has no restrictions and added thinks like ghosting to combat griefing, which wouldnāt be a problem in custom championships since the host could just kick the offender from the convoy. Tour and the playlist are feeding endgame through an eyedropper when it should be a waterfall. Single exhibition races take way too much time to set up for the time spent racing, especially if you want to do your own custom restriction. EventLab has massive potential but itās ultimately just a āone and doneā process with the curating system too underdeveloped to be realistically functional and with no championships to weave the events into.
Iām dying over here waiting for actual racing endgame, and the devs keep losing the plot over and over again making these tertiary game modes while the core gameplay continues on underdeveloped. If racing were actually fully fleshed out then Iād have no issues with game modes like hide and seek. But itās not, and the fact that hide and seek was prioritized over racing endgame is, frankly, pathetic gameplay design.
Nothing wrong with enjoying it now that itās here though. I may hate it, but getting it removed accomplishes nothing.
