Do You A Formula To Tune Gears With Math? Need Help
Not everything boils down to a simple formula. Its a game. The real world doesnt apply.
Tune the gears, for the track, for the car.
Sometimes, the race gearbox isnt the answer, the stock, street, or sport one is.
Thanks For The Reply Bro And Yes I Know I Been Looking For A Formula For Gears With Math Since Forza 5 I Don’t Know I Can Do it On Forza
Dude, I suck at tuning the gearbox. Always have, always will, lol.
.
Here are a couple of references that might help you to better understand gearing…quick GOOGLE…

Guns Cars and Digits Guy I Seen Him But Don’t Understand What He Saying With All The Stuff He Saying I Just Need Simplify Numbers With Math To Do it With My Paper And Pen And Calculator To Tune The Gears I Don’t Understand What He Saying On Reference 3 Video Can Someone Put it Simple For Me With Numbers Instead Of Saying Pi Etc Etc. I Need + - X And Divide Etc.

There is not just ONE equation. If you GOOGLE Gear Math
.
Overthought, too much.
Forget about PI, its just a boundary point. Otherwise irrelevant…
Build the car for the track you are tuning it for.
Drive it stock.
Rebuild, repeat.
Find the build you need first. Not all builds are equal.
Build is 90% of the time.
Once you have build, then worry about tune.
As I said, racebox isnt always the answer and as such, you wont be tuning gears, at all.
If its something that comes with a racebox then start playing around.
FD adjusts all, is it to long for the track? shorten it. Is it to short, lengthen it.
Then tweak individual gears for the necessary corners, as necessary.
Forget about maths. Forget about the real world.
^Seriously. Once you forget the real world exists and start to break the physics engine with stupid [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D], MAGIC.
most of the real world math wont work in forza . and you would be really shocked on how many top cars just have the final drive changed from default
I also agree with Dust, it’s mostly in the build, the tune just makes it a little easier to drive…
Shhhhhhh they are going to think tuners are human soon…
Wow Reaper Mech I Had A Feeling Of People Having The Sport Transmission On Leaderboards I Agree With Dust2Death Also
HLR PRKid Thanks For The Info I Save it To Favorites To Analyze it And Read it Thanks
simply dont upgrade it unless you can tune it. Why pay for PI you cannot use. Anyway stock/street is better most of the time.
I’ve spent some time doing acceleration testing with the various gearbox options compared to how cars accelerate if the PI is spent on weight or horsepower, and this is a completely true statement.
That said, I’ve noticed two things… first is that, at least in FM6, there were a number of cars that were dramatically improved with the race box. Second is that in many cars, the race transmission upgrade is super cheap if you’ve hit your PI cap with few or no horsepower upgrades.
As with every other upgrade it comes down to testing.
Whenever I’m tuning cars with Race Transmissions (Once the other tuning of the car is done), I generally just go into test mode on La Sarthe and get the car to it’s top speed. I then lower or raise the highest gear to be around the area where the RPM starts to go to the red zone (I generally keep a little more RPM left cause of potential draft situations). After that, I’ll stop the car and launch it, if I think 1st gear is too short, lengthen it, if 1st gear is too long, shorten it. Then I’ll just match the other gears up (Literally a case of making the lines on the graph gradually get shorter, in a linear/equal way).
