Was a great read as i mentioned on the FB page John, and you can take that little heap of IROC to the junkyard seeing as its nearly 2 seconds down on my little French hatchback!!
I already posted in the other forums, but I figured I’d better do it here too. Great read on the GT-Rs. Love every era of them and it’s sad they slapped the Skyline name on the Infiniti G series. Don’t get me wrong, I love the G35/37, but they are no Skyline, that’s for sure.
I posted in the other forums, but I figured I’d post again. I’d still pick the R32, but I like both equally. And it was a good read, because I love hearing about anyone who loves cars.

(Sorry if we’re not doing unicorns, I figured it can’t hurt to ask for one though!)
Hmm… good read but a bit of a disappointing ending. Seems a shame that Yusuke stuck with his Skylines for so many years only to give up at the end. Yes the G37 is “technically” a Skyline, but as the article concedes, the G37 is far closer to Nissan’s Z models than the Skyline family.
Of Yusuke’s cars, the R33 is the winner. The R32 is a great car, but with stock wheels and ride height it just doesn’t pack the same visual punch as the R33. Lower the R32 and stick some better rims on it and my verdict would be reversed.
Looks like my original post got lost in the change over so post again. I would go with the R32 I like the late 80’s look it has plus it has a great racing heritage since it won Bathurst in 1991 and 1992. Of the classic Skylines the R32 is my favorite one followed closely by the R33 and the C10 in third place.
looks like my post was lost with the update
I like the later skylines R33 but mt fave is the R34 I like those body styles most and again great read and wright up
Finally!! A story for, in my opinion, the halo of sports cars! I’ve been a fan of the Skyline since I was first introduced to this beauty in Sony’s/Polyphony’s Gran Turismo 2 for the Playstation 2. My interests only piqued in future GT installments and the Fast&Furious franchise. Personally for me, something about the GT-R R32 gravitates with me. Maybe its the simple round tailights on the rear facia or how the aesthetics of the whole vehicle veil what lurks beneath the hood. In my opinion, I consider the R32 a sleeper because at first glance, the R32 doesn’t strike fear and it appears as a ordinary 2-door coupe. Both the R33 thru today’s R35 iteration pose that menacing stance, not so much the R32. I like the R32 because it’s simple and not so fussy.
Thanks for the mixed bag of opinions about Yusuke’s Skylines.
Can anyone give me a valid reason why the should not be able to be imported to the U.S.?
And to those of you thwomping me in the Rivals events, I have a lot better times ready to put down at the Bugatti Circuit if those pesky an ill-behaving traffic cars would get the $%^& out of the way! They are driving me batty, but that is part of the challenge I guess.
I’m not giving up yet and am sticking with my IROC.
I assume you are referring to the 25 year import ban on gray market cars. The gov’t decided that 25 years was long enough that “collectors cars” wouldn’t see street action. HA!! The coolest cars to import are 25 years or older (minus R33’s and R34’s). Then they try to say that they don’t meet emissions standards or safety standards.
I would be willing to bet that there are more than a few American companies willing to invest in the tooling required to convert these cars to standards, and way more than a few Americans willing to pay them for it. I have a friend in IL that has a R34, and he said the time he spent, process involved, and the amount of money he invested in getting that car here would blow your mind.
Long story short, I’m sure even the gov’t doesn’t have a valid reason we can’t import Skylines or anything else. It’s all about the $

It sucks he had to sell them or wanted to because of the noise that is a part of what makes a skyline so badass. I like 300z’s, I even own one but dont want the skylines to look like them, so my favorite was the R33. Im not sure why they couldnt be imported, would love to have the chance to own one at a decent price.
I would love to have this unicorn if any way possible.
