Heavy Metal Affliction - 1991 Nissan 300ZX

This 300ZX has been built with an RB25 swap and is ready for battle in time attack racing.

Matt Bueler and his 300ZX competed in the 2014 IMSCC, and this is the story of Matt and his build.

Post your comments on the story here.

HMA will be taking the next two weeks off and will return in the New Year with the cars of Heavy Metal Affliction 2014.

Nice write up, not sure on the rear spoiler, spoils the look of the 300, I got to race a 300ZX over a quarter mile at one of the many car shows I use to visit. The owner was a friend of mine and I thought I had him as I left him at the start but he went onto pass me before the finish, after he said he panicked and thought he was going to get beat by me, I was in the mighty Peugeot 106 GTI…:))

I’d rock that 300ZX. I remember wanting one so bad in high school … It was my dream car. They are finally getting to the point that a guy could pick one up. Probably going to get more expensive now as my generation of guys are going to start snapping up the good examples. Matt’s a tall drink of water … 6’4" myself. I think I might fit in one if he does. : ) Like the vid of the dyno run … turbo spool sounds awesome. Bummer that the track video was horrible weather.

Just got back on the forums after a long time away as I just got Forza 5 and FH2. Miss these write ups. Good stuff.

forza 5 credits (help a brotha out?) : )

That car is sick my little brother wanted one before he passed January 3rd this year and I wanted one in high school to fix myself

I’ve always loved the looks of the 300ZX. I can remember a couple friends in high school having one and being jealous of not being able to afford one and do what I wanted to it. It’s such a great car and has so much potential from the get go. Great article!

Congrats to Matt Bueler on a fantastic, ultra rad car! I totally love that wing! It looks mean and boss and amazing on that car!
Nice to know there are a few of us out there that got started on ‘Hot Wheels’ at a young age and grew into a passion!
I really enjoyed Matt’s story (espcially hearing how he got started racing with Mopar’s!) and as always, you made this story magic!
Fantastic car, fantastic story! Awesome luck with it Matt!

That is one sweet ride to be proud of, Matt! It is obvious you have put in a lot of hard work into your 300ZX and is the envy of anyone who ever wanted one or drove one.

One of my cousins has one which he has been steadily working on to be a drifter. Every time we go for a cruise, it turns heads, as I’m sure yours does at the tracks.

Thanks John for the great year of Heavy Metal Affliction stories! We truly enjoy your tireless efforts.
