All these cars are interesting and desirable but, to be honest, I’m not sure if any of them should be considered as a “must-have” for Forza Motorsport. The Aventador Ultimate is obviously the closest to that term but we already have three variants of Aventador in the game and I think there are many more important (and more unique) models that should be brought from Forza Horizon 5 and Forza Motorsport 7 first.
There are also two off-roaders in FH5’s Series 36 that I placed on the “discarded pile”: 1997 Mitsubishi Montero Evolution and 1973 Volkswagen Thing.
Yes, I’m certain it’d be great for E-class racing and I’d like to have it too
However, T10 usually chooses cars that can be banded together with others to form a division or create a thematic event so I’m afraid Autozam doesn’t fit there at the moment. But perhaps the situation will change when PG adds more kei cars to Forza Horizon?
It would be closer to competition than the (absolutly amazing) Ginetta G40 which is placed in Forza Touring Cars. That’s an E class car competing against top of A to low S. (But this is another problem)
The Autozam fits the description off the division. It’s early, it’s sporty and it’s very compact.
This division does have quite some PI spread as it is (37 cars in this class!), the AZ-1 joining it below the rest shouldn’t cause much problems. Yes it is off pace, but the 1990 MX-5 will not keep up with the 2002 BMW Z3 M in stock form either.
That’s true, Autozam is not very far from the 1990 Mazda MX-5 in terms of stock performance… so let’s hope T10 adds this car to the game one day. I definitely prefer it over fourth variant of Lamborghini Aventador
Last week we had double update for both Forza Horizon 5 and Forza Motorsport so we should have plenty of changes in this thread… but actually there are only 3 new cars added to the main list, 1 car removed (brought back from FM7), and 1 thrown on the “discarded pile” (2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat).
Here are new cars added to Forza Horizon 5 that would be warmly welcomed in Forza Motorsport as well:
2023 Ford Fiesta ST
2022 Ford Focus ST
2023 Toyota Camry TRD
And the 2011 Ferrari F458 Italia GTC is the only recycled car for August. Another puzzling and unfortunate choice, I’d say. It’s the first car in Forza GT division older than 2014, undermining the theory that T10 is trying to refresh the offering in the GT3 class. It’s also coming at time when players are rather waiting for the new Ferrari 296 GT3 and have forgotten the 458 long time ago (especially with two race models of Ferrari 488 available in the game). I wonder if anyone really wanted to have this car back
With Hidden Horizons update, Forza Horizon 5 added three more cars that we could use in Forza Motorsport as well (although I wouldn’t call them must-haves - maybe with exception of Subaru, but not before many other essential new cars from FH5 are added):
2022 Subaru WRX
1991 Toyota Chaser GT Twin Turbo
2013 Volvo C30 Polestar
Meanwhile, Forza Motorsport received one car from FH5 in Update 12: the 2023 McLaren Artura. A good choice but we need more
A small update after the announcement of Series 39 in Forza Horizon 5. This time there are only two new cars to add to the list… and I think we’ll be fine without them in Forza Motorsport
1990 Aston Martin Lagonda
1997 Toyota Soarer 2.5 GT-T
I hope I’ll be able to remove more cars from the list in a week or two, when Update 13 for Forza Motorsport is announced (unless T10 prepared some desirable #NewToForza cars, of course)
My hopes were fulfilled. The massive Update 13 brought 9 cars that can be removed from the list (alongside 3 #NewToForza models):
1995 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R
2013 Ford Shelby GT500
2024 Ford Mustang GT
2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse
2006 Formula Drift #43 Dodge Viper SRT10
2015 Formula Drift #13 Ford Mustang
1997 Formula Drift #777 Nissan 240SX
2020 Formula Drift #151 Toyota GR Supra
1967 Shelby GT 500
What a great update! Well done, T10!
PS. I decided to move the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N from the “discarded pile” to the main list. I believe it’s much more of a track toy than an SUV, and if it’s coming to Assetto Corsa Evo, then there is definitely place for it in Forza Motorsport as well
On the Forza Horizon 5 front, we have four hot Porsche 911s in Series 40 and three of them should find their way to Forza Motorsport sooner than later (the Rallye variant landed on the “discarded pile”). I’ve added them to the list:
2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS
2023 Porsche 911 GT3 R
2023 Porsche 911 Turbo S
I was hoping these cars will be added to Forza Motorsport simultaneously with FH5, but T10 managed to find a very reasonable excuse to save them for later. NASCAR definitely comes first
With Update 14 I’ve removed from the list two cars:
2019 Hennessey Camaro Exorcist (coming from FH5)
2010 Mazda B09/86 (returning from FM7)
We also don’t need 2016-2017 NASCAR cars anymore so I’ve marked them with italics on the list.
I think the Nissan should be the first to come to Forza Motorsport (BTW, well done on forestalling Gran Turismo with this one, PG ), while the BMW and the Mercedes could come as second and third respectivelly. As for the rest, I’m not sure if the Bentley belongs to race tracks, and the 2nd generation of Cadillac CTS-V was featured in FM7 as Coupe which perhaps fits Forza Motorsport better than the Sport Wagon? (Although I prefer the latter)
Oh for sure, I have a list of wagons I’d like to see, it’s just the idea of making a performance wagon is kinda inherently absurd in the first place. I’m pretty sure it was a stunt from Audi, who wanted to differentiate itself from BMW and Mercedes’ iconic sport sedans, that decided “let’s make sport wagons a thing”.
Update 15 is released so let’s shorten the list again. I’ve removed 6 returning cars from it:
1972 Ford Falcon XA GT-HO
2014 Ford FPV Limited Edition Pursuit Ute
2016 Formula Drift #530 HSV Maloo GEN-F
1985 HDT VK Commodore Group A
2011 HSV GTS
2014 HSV Limited Edition GEN-F GTS Maloo
I’ve also removed two car categories releated to Australia from the second list.
However, I hope this is not the last time when we see Australian content in the game, as there are still some unique cars to return (all of them last seen in FM7):
1967 Ford Falcon XR GT
1971 Ford Falcon XY GTHO Phase III
2015 Ford Falcon XR8
2009 Holden HSV W427
Now let’s move to the Update 16 which we know is going to be focused on “all things BMW”. Even if Turn 10 decided to give us in January only cars featured in FM7 or FH5, there are nearly two dozens of models to choose from, with many wonderful classics among them (although I’ll be disappointed if we don’t get the BMW M Hybrid V8 to expand the LMDh class and/or the new BMW M4 GT3):
1939 BMW 328
1959 BMW 507
1986 BMW M635 CSi
2014 BMW 125i M Sport (BTCC)
2009 BMW M3 GT2
2013 BMW M Performance M3 Racing Car
2022 BMW i4 eDrive40
1995 BMW M5
2003 BMW M5
2009 BMW M5
2022 BMW M5 CS
2010 BMW M6 Coupe
2008 BMW Z4 M Coupe
2011 BMW Z4 sDrive35is
2014 BMW Z4 GTE
2000 BMW Z8
(I’ve left out models that have direct replacement in the game, like BMW M2 '16 or BMW M4 '14)
I can definitely see an M5 or two coming in the BMW update, hell we might get 3 generations of them. As far as race cars thats a hard one to call because T10 seems to have issues licensing race cars in this game and we have gone many updates without any newer or big time race cars being put in the game. With wording like " ALL things BMW" that kind of tells me road cars, race cars, electric and prototype but we shall see what they have. The Mustang update was a good preview of what they can do and even though no IMSA or 05-09 Mustangs came about with that, it still was a solid selection.
So here are 7 returning BMW models T10 opted for in the Update 16 (I’ve removed them from the list):
1986 BMW M635 CSi
2008 BMW M3
2014 BMW M4 Coupe
2003 BMW M5
2009 BMW M5
2010 BMW M6 Coupe
2020 Formula Drift #91 BMW M2
I was hoping that T10 opts for more unique models than M3 '08 and M4 '14 (since we already have M3 GTS and M4 GTS), but with as many as 10 cars in total added in the update, I think I can forgive them
Anyway, the theme for Update 17 was announced to be modern “Daily Racers”. There are numerous fitting candidates to bring back from previous Forza titles (mostly hot hatches, wagons, and “ordinary” saloons, as those categories were not represented in any featured tour so far):
2016 Abarth 695 Biposto
2013 Abarth Punto SuperSport
2009 Audi RS 6
2022 BMW i4 eDrive40
2022 BMW M5 CS
2014 Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon
2014 Chevrolet Super Sport
2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8
2008 Dodge Magnum SRT8
2015 Ford Falcon XR8
2014 Ford Fiesta ST
2023 Ford Fiesta ST
2022 Ford Focus ST
2007 Honda Civic Type-R
2015 Honda Civic Type R
2020 Hyundai i30 N
2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N
2018 Kia Stinger
2009 Lexus IS F
2010 Mazda Mazdaspeed 3
2006 Mercedes-Benz E 55 AMG Wagon
2013 Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG
2007 Renault Clio RS 197
2010 Renault Clio R.S.
2010 Renault Megane R.S. 250
2005 Subaru Legacy B4 2.0 GT
2022 Subaru WRX
2023 Toyota Camry TRD
2021 Toyota GR Yaris
2009 Vauxhall Corsa VXR
2010 Vauxhall Insignia VXR
2010 Volkswagen Golf R
2011 Volkswagen Scirocco R
2013 Volvo C30 Polestar
2015 Volvo S60 Polestar
2015 Volvo V60 Polestar
Well… it’s going to be hard to please everyone, right?
