Fujimi Kaido International Hill Climb 2014

Haven’t decided on a date yet, so feel free to put when a good day would be to hold this event.

EVENT DESCRIPTION: A Forza Motorsport version of the famous Pikes Peak hill climb. Racers will be tasked with completing the Old Hill Climb in the fastest time possible.

CAR UPGRADES: No modded cars allowed. Other than that, you can pretty much build anything you want.

PRIZES: If everyone falls in the same class of cars, the fastest time up the mountain will win ten million credits. If there is a split in classes (R3/R2/R1), the winner in each class will receive two million credits.

HOW TIMING WORKS: There will be two cars judging time: I’ll be at the bottom of the hill starting your run, and one of my friends will be at the top judging your finishing time.

HOW RUNS WORK: You start a couple yards behind the red starting line. You are permitted to use tire-warming techniques, as long as it doesn’t damage your car or other cars. When the starting official says to get into race position, you move forwards until your front tires touch the edge of the red line. I’ll give a ten-count, and you go after I say “go!”. If you jump, you have another chance to start your run. If you jump on your second start, ten seconds will be added to your total time. After that, race as hard as you can until you reach the top. The timing official will say “time!” when you reach the finish line at the top of the hill. After you reach that line, go down the other end of the hill until you reach the final turn. Then, you stop until your next run.

JUDGING: Each driver will have a total of three runs up the hill. Your final time will be the best of those runs. If you are unable to complete a run, either the starting official or the timing official will push you down the hill, depending on where you crash. Since there is no garage at Fujimi, you need to try not to crash. Five seconds of time is better than a day-ending crash.

CRASHES: When you crash, you either continue your run or call out that you have crashed and are unable to complete your run. If you have to call your crash, your day is probably over.

ASSISTS AND CONTROLS: Any control setup and controller/wheel setup is okay. Other than that, all assists will be turned off other than transmission options. For 10 mil at stake, you might want to do some practice runs before the event begins to the point where you don’t need driving line on.

DESIGNS: You need to design your own race-replica design. (base design has to be original, but you can buy vinyl groups if you want) There will be decals in my storefront (for free) that are mandatory to be put on your car. The side number plates need to be at least as high as half of your door. There must also be a plate on your hood. Numbers are 1-99, but it’s a first-come-first-serve basis. If you want 37, and someone takes it, you either pick another number or let me pick a random number for you. Other than that, you need a storefront-friendly design: no profanity or inappropriate images!

GOOD LUCK AND GOOD RACING!

This looks good. The best day for me would be Saturday afternoon. Also when is the sign up open?

Sign-Up is open any time.

I still need to get around to making the plates, though. I’ll probably start making serious preparations when more people reply.

alright, so here’s the official rules for the event.

FUJIMI KAIDO INTERNATIONAL HILL CLIMB 2014
RULES:
Section I: Practicing
• Practice and Race Day are two separate occasions.
• Every driver is allowed (you should do this if you take this seriously) to test drive their chosen car to choose upgrades and fine-tune their setup.
• Drivers are allowed to practice from when the date of the hill climb is posted to the day before the event.
• Once you are in the lobby for the event, you may not back out to practice.

Section II: Upgrades and Banned Cars

• Anyone driving an illegally modified car will be banned from the event and all other events hosted at a later time.
• Illegal modification means modifying the game for upgrades. Impossible/God v. Money’s modded discs are a notable example.
• Other than that, go crazy. You can upgrade your car however you want as long as it’s legitimate.
• Banned cars: 1986 #2 Audi Sport Quattro S1, 1989 Mercedes-Benz #63 Team Sauber-Mercedes C9, 1991 Mazda #55 Team Mazdaspeed 787B, 2011 Suzuki #1 Monster Sport SX4 Hill Climb Special.

Section III: Liveries and Decals

• All base designs and the primary sponsor should be original.
• You can buy vinyl groups to use as secondary decals.
• No profanity or pornographic content allowed, or you will be banned.
• There are only two mandatory vinyl groups that you have to download: The number plates, and the event logo. Both of these will be available in my storefront for free.
• All designs must be race-inspired. You can have a fantasy design, but make the sponsor tie in with the design.

Section IV: Race Assists and Conduct

• All assists will be turned off, but you will be able to choose what transmission you want to use for the event.
• For safety reasons, Wrong-Way Indicator is a mandatory option that you have to turn on.
• Simulation Damage is also on, so try your hardest not to end your day with a crash. It’s better to lose a few seconds than lose your car and your chances of a prize.
• In the case of a crash that leaves you unable to compete any further, inform the stewards that you have crashed, and they will come get you before the next run begins.
• No discrimination allowed. This includes racism, sexism, and age discrimination. If you make fun of someone, you’re disqualified.

Section V: Race Day

• Starting your run is probably the most difficult procedure in the entire day.
• To start your run, you can go a few meters behind the starting line to perform tire-warming techniques.
• Proceed to the starting line slowly until I say you can stop.
• I’ll tell the finishing steward to check the time, and start a 10-count that goes along with race time, that way he can measure finishing time accurately.
• If you jump the gun, I’ll give you another starting chance.
• If you use your 1MT (one more time) and still jump on that, you will have a ten-second time penalty for your run.
• It only applies to one run, so you have three 1MTs to use, once per run if you need a 1MT.
• In the case of tire-warming techniques being used, the driver must not hit another driver’s car. If they do, it’s a 10-second penalty per hit.
• All drivers waiting to go have to line up at the side of the road until the current driver’s run starts.
• Finishing your run is just going over the finish line and driving cautiously down the other side of the hill.
• The finishing official will write down your time.
• Final times will not be announced until the end of the event.

Section VI: Prizes and other information
• Microphones need to be turned on.
• The training stage of the hill climb is the Old Hill Climb.
• To also include the cool-down stage, the entire track will be open for the event, but only the Old Hill Climb is timed.
• Only 10 to 14 drivers are allowed to compete to allow for officials to also join.
• The top prize is 10 million credits. Second place is 8 million, third is 6 million, and so on.

This seems interesting. Might as well give it a try.

I am unsure of the car I will be using, but will probably be a muscle car of some sort.

Using a muscle car on Fujimi Kaido. That’s some balls and a half but Kudos if you can manage to get it working!

Interesting, sounds fun. Did you come to any conclusion on a time yet?

Time hasn’t been set yet. We still need a few more people to turn up the competition even more.

Well, I’m interested, but if it’s not happening in the evening [after 7pm EDT] could not take part live. Would you allow a replay-based submission? Here’s my info in any case:
