Fuel load simulated?

I have wondered this the last two Forza games. Does less fuel lighten the car?
Today I was doing a 50 lap race around Long Beach with one of the modern IndyCars. On lap 35 or so I pitted for new tyres as they were getting pretty worn. Fuel was probably at about 55-60% left. I pitted and did a slowish outlap waiting for the tyres to warm up. The next lap I had a clear lap and went to put in a fast lap. Got to the first corner, braked in the same spot (with braking line) and went wide, understeered (more then usual) and clipped the wall. I didn’t make a mistake on the previous laps, fresh tyres that were up to temperature and an open track. Led me to thinking it is simulated. Anyone know for certain?

You need 3 or 4 laps for the tires to get up to temp. Maybe that was it? I’ve never noticed the fuel have any effect. The tires can have a big effect even with only a couple of degrees difference though.
You’d need to run some serious laps to test this to keep running fuel down. Still would be nice for Turn 10 to add a starting amount of fuel option. To force pitstops.

Yeah, fuel load doesnt seem to have any effect on the weight of the car. I did the 90 min Spa hopper (full damage and consumption) yesterday and didnt notice any change of weight after the pitstop

I suspect the tires were not fully warmed up, yet. I noticed they still feel cold for several turns after the blue fades out of the tire temperature gauge.

I expected so. Thanks guys

I don’t feel too much understeer with lots of fuel, maybe it isn’t…

When testing the Lotus 49 I noticed the car tends to do bolt out of corners quicker when it’s lighter; however, it may be placebo effect, me seeing things I’d like to see.

Fuel consumption is generic. No simulated to any physics or real MPG. Every car does about 350 miles to run out of gas.

Interesting. Nurburging would see compulsory fuel stops in that case.
