Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone! Here is my weekly update, and this week I decided to theme it more around Christmas and snow theme with some of the normal shots mixed in. Hopefully everyone enjoys and please leave feedback as it helps me improve. Thank you and cheers!

Those last two shots are my favorite, with the colorful flames coming out of that Lamborghini’s exhaust pipes!
That is stunning! Love the creativity. It looks like the car has side exhausts and they are backfiring
Agree with NV, great action shot thats made even more intersemting by how and when you’ve captured it. I also have a soft spot for this;
Sick shot!
That shot is one of my favorites from that set as well as one of my favorites of all time. Thank you again for all the feedback, hope to have the newest set up sometime tonight!
Warning, this set contains some images that might be a bit…bright. With New Years coming I wont be coherent for the coming days so I decided to get this set out today and to see what you all think of it. I decided to get a little more creative this time around so hopefully everyone enjoys it.
I love the nighttime fireworks in this shot!
cool
Beautiful shot
Easily my fave
Hi Atlas,
So I have to say this is a pretty good start (Or restart if it is. I don’t think we’ve met before tho lol) to your gallery.
As usual, if I see someone who has a lot of potential or room for improvement, I like to pass on my thoughts. I’ll start by saying Vignette is a preferred subtlety feature or even preferred to be avoided, used as much as to create an effect on the picture but not so much that you can really tell that it’s there.
Don’t get me wrong though, for example this one:
You’ve blended it in very well with the shadows and scenery. There are times you can use it in excess, but it should be generally very subtle if at all.
I should also like to point out a couple of pointers on composition and expression. I really like that pic above, but adding things like tilt and paying attention to The Rule of Thirds (Click here) would bring up your quality exceptionally for quite a few of your current pics you’ve posted here. Although don’t let the rule get to into your head, it’s more of a guide, but you should always be considerate of it.
This one is another good one. The tilt really helps the composition. If you can maybe relate to me here, you probably felt that it looked nicer off-center maybe? Or felt that it looked quite aggressive when you took the picture? These are why that rule exists. Humans like pictures having the focus off-center more than being in the center. Of course, like in the article, there are exceptions to the rule, but these are few and far between. Should also note the vignette is a little high here, but it’s somewhat ok. I still think it’s good.
Another one I like, probably because it’s more in my alley of what I like to take pictures of. Lol. But the composition is pretty well done here, my only thoughts would be to maybe let the taillights a bit more into the picture by zooming out and realigning the car to the thirds in the process, as well as remove the vignette and then play with the settings a bit to make the picture pop, give it that wow factor that catches eyes like the first one I mentioned above. It’s well done, but it is fairly flat without other things like a bright tail-light for example to create a better more broader colour balance.
As for the other pics, I can see you are keen on trying out new and different things (Especially your latest set), experiementing with the settings and ideas is the best way to learn and improve. Keep experimenting with photo mode. Even though it may not yield many nice results, it will absolutely teach you a lot.
In any case if you are well aware of these things already I apologise, but I’m not the kind anymore to want to shy away from helping others bring out their full potential and learn. And if getting too technical about each pic is too hard to think about or taking the fun away, then don’t follow anything I said. Just do it the way you want. Enjoyment should be your first priority and I don’t want to take that element away from you.
At the end of it all, I really like all the pics I brought up here, so don’t think I’m throwing anything out the window lol. Like I said, it’s a great start. Keep it up!
Well damn, I thought Pebb was the only one to give lectures. Kidding of course. I am familiar with the Rule of Thirds that you mentioned as I formerly used to edit and create videos in After Affects, so I havent really thought about it in a long time and normally I just let the photos flow.
HOWEVER, I did not know how to really use the vingette and your explanation of it really helps me out so I thank you for that.
For me its not that being technical with how I compose my shots really undermines my creativity its more like an afterthought as in I have a shot I want and I am able to create something that I am satisfied with then I begin to think about proportions and the color balance of the shot and the things in that nature.
Hopefully you enjoy the newest set and can provide some more feedback as this is extremely helpful to me.
FYI This is just my Horizon 3 Gallery, had one in FM6 but work kinda got in the way of it.
Hey guys, here is my next set. Hope everyone enjoys them and please leave some feedback, cheers!

Hubba Hubba! Wicked.
Some nice shots Atlas, i like the croc shot and also these. Like the creativity in the first one and a nice angle and good action in the second.
Love these two:
Lovely lighting in the first shot and great angle in the second.
Oh and welcome to FTC Atlas!
I enjoy this one a lot! I love these early morning shots when the sun rises and morning mist is still there. A shot can’t go wrong with that
the fact that this entire picture has some green hue to it with every part of the picture pleases me to a great degree for some reason.
and I love the white lines in the tires from the snow in this shot, makes the car looks awesome for some obscure reason. Great job Atlas!
