I am the OP of this thread. Still freezing after reinstall. FM5 constantly freezes as well. Thank you for being a part of and reading these threads. And yes, I am in the preview program. Can’t wait for a fix so I can get back to playing.
I experienced three freezes this weekend where the pavement would become a single shiny plane, the car would freeze with no response. I was able to dashboard and Quit the game, but selecting it at that point had no response. Selecting another game (FM5) also had no response. Hard rebooting made everything work again until the next freeze/lockup.
I’m in the dashboard beta program.
I was just driving down this road in FH2 and out of nowhere this happened.

hmm… the AI drove over it just fine.

I froze once loading a championship race. I was unable to exit the game or navigate away from the loading screen, the whole system was locked up. A reboot of the system fixed the issue.
I had one other freezing issue when I was leaving the Castelletto Hub, off in the distance it looked like a shiny tunnel, but it was where textures had not loaded. As I approached, the game froze. I was able to exit to the home screen and restarting the game fixed the issue.
As far as I know, I am not a part of the Beta program.
We’re aware of an issue with the October preview beta dashboard update that’s causing these freezing/lockups for some users, a fix is incoming soon.

I can’t even get past the menu screen. I’ve had it already with this game I’ve done as much as I can think of to try and fix the freezing and it just wont happen. Anybody else have any ideas on what to try to stop the freezing before I break this disc in half?
I have
-Hard reset xbox
-Settings to energy saving start up
-Uninstall and Reinstall multiple times
-Even uninstalled pre order bonuses to see if that had any effect
and still no luck, get to menu screen where it tells me to press A, and a few seconds after I press it the screen locks up and freezes kicking me out of the game

I just bought the game and it freezes and turns black right after Microsoft Studios logo. I will try a full power cycle and report back, fingers crossed.
Full power cycle got me past the Microsoft Studios logo and through the opening video. All working well for now.
That is a well known issue and has nothing to do with the game. It’s what happens when the cache is full (no “clear cache” button on the one, unlike the 360). Happened to me on COD Ghosts. It can happen on any game.
On topic, I’ve had one freeze so far. Close to the second hub.
Xbox One froze in first Championship race in Castelleto. In my frustration after last nights Unavailable problem I started pushing buttons on the Thrustmaster TX wheel trying to at the very least get out of the game so I could restart. Ended pushing the Xbox button such that it will not pop back out. Wheel is now FUBAR.
I am in the preview program. This is the most I have ever had to hard restart my xbox in the last year. Also, if I am using the tx and party on a controller at the same time… if something happens to the controller (like the headset being unplugged) I have to exit horizon and restart it just to be able to use the wheel again. You can get the wheel working again without exiting the game but it will not have the correct force feedback until you restart the game because it thinks you are playing on the controller.
I have even froze in a private roadtrip with a friend to the point where my car was just frozen in mid air but everything around me was moving, he was still able to complete the race… and I was the host. I may or may not have captured a video of this happening. I’ll have to look and see if it recorded… I told my pal I was not going to restart for a fifth time in one day so we just hung it up for the night.
We played quite a bit today and the core of the game is fun, very fun… I don’t mean to sound not appreciative, but this is the most issues I have had in a Forza game, by quite a wide margin, and I am not exactly a person who qualifies as technically-challenged.

Glad to finally find some others posting about this. I’ve had constant freezing issues with FM5 and have only today made the realisation that it could be connected to the dash preview program (after a friend tried to play his game today and suffered the same freezes on certain races/tracks loading. He’s also on the october preview making me think that the freezes probably did start soon after the update hit the main dash last week (friends blade added) I guess it’s causing some memory leaks or something somewhere
Glad that T10 are aware and hope fixes are easy. Microsoft have no clue to what these issues are (having spent over 4 hours talking to them over the weekend) even when I mentioned I was in the preview program
My game has froze several times and I need to restart my xbox and I am a preview member. Is this a problem caused by the preview program and if so I will just remove myself from it if it will fix this
I got this freezing issue 4 times already its getting me very mad I need 6 more championship to get to the Horizon finale and I can’t beat it due to this freezing bug I thought my Xbox One was having issues already but now I know its the game and Ive been waiten for this game since E3 and hyped up for it but Playground games please fix this bug asap I freeze whenever I take the roadtrip from the festival to a different location this freeze is ruining my fun with Forza Horizon 2
I had the game freeze up last night 3 times. I do not have the xbox one dashboard preview, nor do I do the Instant On feature. One thing that was constant during the lockup was I was in Party Chat with some friends while they played Destiny and it happened in the exact same place.
The lock ups happens when leaving from the Horizon main complex and head to the freeway, take a left and get on the freeway, a little before the first tunnel the game either seems the lag a bit or it locks up completely. I even have a video of the first time it locked up. I found it funny at first, but its a pain now.
Every once in a while the sound of the revs mess up for me and when picking rims it makes a popping sound. My game froze last night when free roaming. I was driving by the coast and my car stopped. The road ahead disappeared but the car sound was still going as was music. I couldn’t go anywhere but the traffic cars were still driving by. A fix would be awesome since it’s such a great game. There’s a lot of bugs that need fixing. I’m also part of the preview program.
Same here, 4 times yesterday (4 hours playing ), 3 times i was at the f40 bucket list, my and all other cars just stop at the same place and the road disappear, i cant even reset the console, i had to hard reset all 4 times. Im in the beta program. Ill try to take a SS or record a video next time.

My game freezes everytime in the same place, same road. Leaving Nice throught that road it goes alright, if I turn around and go back, freezes, everytime.
Tried hard reset and got nothing. Still freezing.
