It’s all broken. How about they make the Forzathon Shop cars Forza editions of cars in the game? This bringing back cars from previous games and making you do all the stuff to get one has gotten old. I’m not good enough and hate online racing so I don’t have a 914/6 and I’m pissed about that. One of my favorite cars in the whole series. And a reason why I haven’t played in a couple weeks. Adding tons of exclusive stuff has gotten old in a big way, I’m so close to being done with the whole series and going back to GT for the times I have time to play with virtual cars. Meanwhile, my real life racing season is starting this weekend, I really don’t care about this game anymore.
I’m happy. This is the first time the shop has featured two cars I didn’t already own. With a combined pricetag of $12 million at the autoshow, I’m qutie alright with running a few extra forzathon events for 1150 FP’s to grab them from the forzathon shop. Now I can allocate that $12 million elsewhere.
It was outright clear from the beginning that the shop can’t keep up with providing “exclusive” cars for long. It was the same with the “Special Dealer” in FM7. Exciting at first but quickly troubled by a lot of problems which came due to its design. You simply can’t keep up a steady flow of “exclusive” cars on a weekly basis. At first, the “Special Dealer” recycled the cars countless times until they changed it to 4 each week from basically the whole car pool. Nowadays it’s just a place to exchange a “normal” car to a “special” car with a higher collector score.
FH4’s Forzathon Shop still needs to find its place and purpose.
I cannot see how anybody can consider this a bad way to do forzathon shop. Well, I can see one “It isnt a car I dont have or cant exploit the broken auction house with therefore is terrible.”
The shop is an opportunity. not an entitlement. A high value classic is going to appeal to a lot of players outside of just the collectors. the 250 GTO? A beautiful car that most players probably wouldnt buy. Majority arent farming route glitch exploiting auction house macro gouging minmaxers. So 10m is a fair bit of change. Even moreso if they are not VIP. I see a good portion of players without a crown icon.
Not only that, but last week and this week? At a very reasonable points cost, said cars were also usable for championships! Not stuck to the rental to do last weeks trial. Not forced to buy a 2m dollar car for this weeks weekly. It is an interconnected incentive. Rewarding and supporting the greatest number of players.
The selection of cars for the forzathon shop these past weeks has been spot on.
Thank you! I’m more into American Muscle, but the 250 GTO is a beautiful car that I sold for some reason when I got it as a wheelspin reward on the 5th day of release. Lol. I’ve been waiting for this opportunity because I don’t feel like spending 10mil on one car.
Well, we will never know for sure. Only thing we can do at best is gather a bunch of data unless the devs come right out and say it.
I have to side with it favoring at least that the legendaries you get are filtered by what you own. It just makes for good design. Legendary wins of the multi mil cars are rare enough. So winning two of them when you don’t have one doesn’t offer much to the player. Yeah, if you think about it, there is a devaluing of the final win if you know that last legendary will be the one you really want. Other games have done it in the past, so no reason to not expect it to be a common trait in game design.
Is it really worth arguing whether or not the pool that the game draws from filters out what you already got for exclusives and legendary/high value? What does that even have to do with the forzathon shop?
Are you still looking for Lambo? I got a duplicate yesterday night as wheelspin reward. Willing to give it to you as I don’t keep duplicates. Not trying to make money or anything so I’ll list at the minimum price. I play every day 10pm - 12am (GMT+8, Singapore time). Let me know if you want the car and can come online during that time…
It’s definitely pure RNG and has nothing to do with what cars you already own. I got a 3rd '40 Ford this weekend, a second Bronco and another Integra Type-R as well.
Let me guess that you own at least 80% of common rarity cars. You base that wheelspins dont have nothing to do with cars you allready own that you have get common rarity cars as duplicate.
So even tough you own most common cars but miss abaout 140 cars you think that duplicate common cars proof that your garage dont matter what cars you get. I assume i have spin wheelspins a lot more because i have get all autoshow cars months ago and i notice that have mutch higher change to gets cars that dont own yet (but depending in rarity and price tag also, owning all common cars dont increase change to get legendary cars) and im not only one who is high level who is notice the same.
Also i just check that wheelspin nissan GT-R LM i havent never won in wheelspin even tho im prestige 5 and 230 level it’s not hard to guess i havent won that because i have buy that from AH.
Just because you have bought it from the AH doesn’t mean that isn’t why you haven’t won it. I have not bought any of the exclusive cars in the AH and I’m still missing several. It’s RNG, plain and simple, some just have better luck than others.
Yes, duplicate common cars prove my point exactly, while disproving yours. A common car is a common car, meaning it has a higher chance of showing up on a wheelspin, regardless of if you own it or not. It’s the same way as buying a pack of cards, you are more likely to get duplicates of common cards from any given pack than you are to get one rare, regardless of what you own.
It’s a distribution metric, which is more likely percentage based and again has nothing to do with what you already own. Plenty of people here have proven that.
Do you really thing wheelspins are pure rng? And no your duplicate common cars dont disprove my point wrong because common cars has nothing to do at how rare, epic and legendary cars will drop. Just watch point when you have most rare rarity cars and you keep getting those rare cars from wheelspins that you still miss. Your pack of cards is not very good example at digital game that can made to guaranted certain drops at certain point, just like heartstone packs where you guaranted to get different legendary every time until you have all legendaries from that set.
Plenty of people have proven that, by getting common cars when they have most common cars is not prove that you have higher change to get car you missing but it’s also tied up to car rarity and value, i trust more on my own experience in this one than yours experience when you miss 140 cars.
Common cars have everything to do with how often rare, epic and legendary cars will drop, because it is all percentage based. Any percentage that is dedicated to a common car cannot be used for any rare, epic or legendary.
I don’t buy cars in the autoshow that often, which is why I’m missing 140 cars. RNG in RPGs and such works the same way, they work off of loot tables, which are just percentage based. Period, end of story. You cannot program a feature that is RNG-based, because then it isn’t RNG.
God, what i have say has nothing to with % what is drop rate of each rarity type. Let me give you simple example what i meaning there is abaout 110 rare rarity autoshow cars, lets say you have 100 of those in that point you have higher % to get some of those missing cars than you have get those 100 other rare cars, and it’s apply only when you get rare car so amount of other rarity cars dont have any effect of that. And guess what this game wheelspins are not pure rng, there are peoples allready tested to reroll same wheelspin (spining wheelspin and then close to game and delete save game on xbox and sync on cloud so can spin that wheelspin again) and wheelspin prize is same in both times.
Well i dont count your few duplicate common car as a proof because that has nothing to do with other rarity cars. Sure you can keep rolling non-duplicate rare, epic and legendary cars from wheelspins and telling yourself that is good rng while im pretty sure it’s not rng.
Your original argument started with only cars bought in the autoshow or auction house and nothing to do with rarity. You modified it to get around mine when yours didn’t fit anymore. Granted, the original post was referring to a rare Lambo which is exclusive, but either way, your argument of having cars in your garage affecting results has been disproven several times.
