#Forzathon for the month of April

I did the Forzathon yesterday. I still had to quit the game to get the prizes to be awarded. But I really like how quick this months was.

I might very well be the only one, but I would like the Forzathons to be more about skill or grind. Driving one lap of Nurburgring full should not be a monthly task. I actually like Forzathon in FH3 very much. Sometimes there was skill involved, sometimes you had to find something out (or look up in my case) and it was a weekly event that I was looking for. Forzathon in FM7 feels bland, super easy and comes only once per month.

Drive the lap in the right car with “0” opponents and you knocked out 2 of the 4 Challenges at one time.

They got it right last month, because there were multiple paths you could take. Please bring this back, Turn 10!

As for the actual challenges, most people take the easy way out and cheese them like there’s no tomorrow. For this month I ran 3 laps of Nords full in a track day car, actual rain at Maple Valley short and Mazda 787B at Suzuka Full.

I’m not going to complain about any Forzathon that actually works. Need to go retry the drift one using these tips. Annoyed that it didn’t just work

Chuck a locking diff on the car you wish to use, make sure it’s not outrageous (I used the E30 M3 with the B class 525PI tune), take it on a drift race on free mode, set the weather to rain, set the time limit to whatever you need and get that car twerking!

Maybe it is time to remove the „thon“ from Forzathon, it being reference to „Marathon“ ?
It took me about 15 minutes to complete the lot, including Nürburgring.
I have no drifting skills whatsoever, still managed to get a 30.000 points lap in Maple Valley with my first run.

Please rethink the difficulty level of these „challenges“, Turn 10.

Lest I forget: thanks for finally fixing the popping of the Forzathon achievements. Nice thing no longer having to quit the game, restarting the console and performing an exorcism for that.

Personally I prefer the shorter challenges. The Forzathons before with all the challenges were super tedious, and rarely felt like they really made any sense and were just a random list of objectives, like they had been drawn from a hat. These new easier/faster challenges are way less boring and time consuming, which means we can spend our time on Forza doing what we actually want to do instead of driving cars/tracks we don’t care about.

I guess for some reason people liked having more random hoops to jump through to get their cars/driver suits though, so it’s kind of a difficult spot for them to be in as there will always be split opinions.

Ideally they would figure out something to do for Forzathon that is actually interesting, but since there is way less freedom in the Motorsport series compared to Horizon, as well as (seemingly) less passion and creative thinking from the dev team, I can’t expect that to happen.

Forza Horizon 3, 20 Kangaroo to get Barn Find rumor… Just keep grinding jumps in the dunes to get the achievement. The pinnacle of “creative thinking”. Would compare it to watching paint dry, but at least there’s sun and a rough ride in the Outback.

Dusting off that Eagle Talon for one Forzathon race won’t kill you, I promise.

I’m with you, keep em short, and less drift stuff!!!

It’s possible the Forzathon challenges are now a weekly occurrence, I would be more than fine with that. Surely one task per challenge for an entire month is not something Microsoft and Turn10 would be okay with.

Nope it’s for a month
Look at the dates
And if it was weekly a new one would have started already

I think the FM7 forzathons are still a work in progress. They were awesome n FH3, but for whatever reason, they had to work out the unlock process for this game. Looks like it’s all figured out now though; I did a 2 lap track toys race of Nurburgring Full and the first challenge popped right as I crossed the start/finish line completing my first lap. 2nd challenge popped when CR was awarded for the race.

Everything worked flawlessly. I’m guessing this month’s forzathon was as much of a test as anything. Now that the kinks are worked out, maybe they’ll get more creative with the forzathons… More frequent, etc.

I still have other stuff to do with the game, I don’t really need hour+ long forzathons once or twice a week. I’ll take them if they come, but whatever.

I think they worked flawlessly because instead of fixing the issues they simply removed them (multiple tasks per Forzathon) just like the “fix” for dealing with the issues with Forzathon in general was to release all events for the month on one day - meaning you only lose a couple of days fixing it instead of multiple days each week.

Gresnik - I had the same positive experience as you with the most recent batch of Forzathon events. All achievements popped as soon as I completed each race. Furthermore, the rewards were presented immediately after returning to the Free Roam screen.

Forzathons seem to be working well.

So, I’m trying to finish this forzathon drift thing… I need to get 3000 points on maple valley in the rain. No problemo. I load up a “how to drift in forza 7” video on youtube. Spend an hour figuring how to do it… poorly. Finish a lap where I see at least 3000 points tally (I know they only tally when they shift to the right). Then I finish my lap and… no credit.

What is frustrating is that they have this forzathon achievement, but don’t have any visibility into the drift total; you only see your current drift value, not the sum total. You also don’t see any drift numbers on the race end screen, only lap time. How are we supposed to know what we are doing wrong if we have to guess at invisible numbers?

Am I doing something obviously wrong, or is this just a poorly constructed challenge?

Also, for what its worth, the forzathon UI shows that I have 0/3000 credit on the challenge. Can you not finish this in free play?

There is a drift scoring option in HUD options.

Use the drift mode. Drift mode is time-based and you only get the achievement when time runs out, ending the event.

I’ve seen people earn the achievement with foggy conditions, so you get weather but no actual rain. Makes it a tad easier.

You can probably use Maple Valley Full as well.

Thank you. The forzathon requirements “description” is … lacking.

Do you also need to complete a full lap to get credit? I set the timer to 2:00, got the requisite points but still got no credit. double ewe tee eff.
