I remember making a car that was plain outright unable to go in a straight line. I promptly decided that the Enzo V12 does not belong in prewar Ford.
Great stories so far, it’s also great to see this community forum work by bringing people together from the beginning of the game franchise and to this point in time they still keep in contact. I started playing Forza at the end of Forza Motorsport 1 met some brilliant people through racing and drifting and to this day I still talk to those.
I owned a Original Xbox with a gamertag I do not even remember and started playing Forza Motorsport before the release of Forza Motorsport 2 and FM2 was the point where I really got hooked on the franchise, I would often browse the forums to see what the community was like but it had taken me from 2007 till 2009 to actually create an account with the site and start commenting myself and taking part in community topics.
Then Forza 3 came around the corner and yet again purchasing the game and everything else it had to offer, then after that getting Forza Motorsport 4 and doing the same thing. After these the Horizon series started and it was something different I wanted to try in hopes it would be something like existing open world games and especially TDU. GAME had messed up my order online for Horizon 1 so I panicked a little and ended up having to grab it on launch day first thing in the morning from the store and looking at the sweet metal case until I got back home to play it. Personally the first Horizon wasn’t too exciting or me in the end and sadly I didn’t put too much time into the game.
I then picked up a shiny new Xbox One and Forza Motorsport 5 which was brilliant! My experience with Horizon 1 kept me skeptical of Horizon 2 needless to say I was not disappointed and at this point I’ve nearly played 1500 hours on the game and I’ve got myself back into painting and have hit some success with them not only being recognized by Turn 10 but by people who play Forza and lots of my designs have thousands and thousands of downloads.
It then comes down to being a part of the weekly streams hosted by the Turn 10 team, Mechberg, John, Jube & Helios (hope I haven’t missed anyone ) and of course yours truly myself being there as often as I can moderating that chat and and sending love letters back to John and everyone else.
If you haven’t checked out this amazing community based streams then you should! What are you waiting for? Twitch
A little extra, through my designs Forza has given me the opportunity to get in contact with some brilliant racing teams I’ve created replicas for and this includes McLaren which to me is one if not the best manufacturer on the planet
I remember casually playing Forza 2 with my 12 year old son on his Xbox, and amazed at how fast he could “drive” the cars on a controller (and how poor I was in comparison). When Forza 3 was released, I purchased the Microsoft wheel and pedals for him (and for me) in hopes of getting the real feel for driving. He still preferred the controller, but my times improved with the wheel (still not as fast as him, but closed the gap some). At this point, I was still a casual player, but that all changed when Forza 4 was released and I found the community.
Forza 4 really pulled me in to the community with the various Monthly bounty hunters and other contests and competitions that were offered. I remember how the garages would run competitions and sell limited edition cars on a regular basis in the auction. I couldn’t believe how some people (legitimately) were able to bid 100M credits for a car, when my “bank roll” was somewhere around 5M, until I eventually was on the other side of the bidding wars with upwards of 300M credits and a full garage myself (again, all earned legitimately thru the various competitions won). It was great when a contest holder would say “…put up a rabbit in the auction house for 10M and I’ll pick it up…” I would be remiss to not mention the community goodwill from the T10 Community Team and the spread of unicorns by the “Unicorn Saint”, which allowed me to add those rare cars to my garage several times over.
This was a time where I joined my first garage- Dirt T Tuning and later AtlanticLS. These garages (like all the others, including GSW and PTG, just to name two) all had their share of excellent tuners, painters, and drivers. Everyone was willing to help their team (and other community members). All you had to do was ask.
As I became a better driver, I outgrew my MS Wheel and invested in a Fanatec GT3 with Club Sport Pedals, which took my racing experience to a new level. During this time, I learned about the 2Old4Forza clan, a group of several hundred 25year-old and older gamers all over the world. The emphasis was on clean driving and that took the racing experience up another few notches. We ran weekly events, leagues, and racing series. There wasn’t a time where I fired up the 360 and found any less than 10 friends from 2Old4Forza and immediately jumped into a room and raced for a few hours. Weekends were always full a common ground for our North America or European members to get together.
With the introduction of the Xbox one, I was excited to jump to the new platform and Forza 5. However, I was back to the controller for the early months until the TX wheel was available. I also found that a majority of the 2O4F clan initially remained on the 360 and FM4. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed FM5 and I see more and more of the old club members migrating to the Xbox one over time. I’m hoping FM6 will bring back the garage and club excitement I felt from the FM3 and FM4 days.
Congratulations to the entireT10 team on a great 10 years of success and I look forward to many more years enjoying the Forza franchise.
My favorite moment in Forza was when my two cousins came to my house when I was playing Forza motorsport 4. Andy was the oldest one out of my cousins and which knew how to play Forza somewhat. When me and Andy where losing all the races so we went to go eat. So my 4 year old cousin Alex got the controller and started the race that Andy and I couldn’t win the whole time that we where playing and Alex won that race. We spitting out our water on the floor when Alex won the race in 1st place.
:o
I’ve been playing Forza since 2011, when I got Forza 4 for Christmas. After playing it for a few hours, I was hooked. I played it, a lot, and I tried to complete the Event List there but never got through. As a previous NFS player, with Hot Pursuit, Shift 2, and fun but short The Run, also having played Hot Pursuit 2 on the GameCube-fun times, and Underground 2 on the PS2 once. I’ve also played Motorstorm (fun but only played it once) on my cousin’s PS3, and, as you probably guessed, Mario Kart. After I started FM4, I literally never came back.
Then came Forza Horizon. I got it on day one and played through it several times. I also have over 700 1000 Club medals, having owned every on-disc car, the seven unicorns, and the free cars given out, excluding the 250 GTO.
At Christmas 2012, I made the switch to all assists to no assists at all. I experienced a drastic change in my experiences and it got easier for me to drive as well.
FM4 and Horizon 1 are the only Forza games I own. I was planning on getting an Xbox One and FM5, but I abstained. Instead, I got a PS3 and Gran Turismo 5. Ironically, it was two weeks before GT6 came out when I got GT5. When I started GT5, it was fun initially, but it took a long time to gold the licences.
With GT6, it took about a month for me to complete the career mode fully. Today, I do the seasonal events that are updated weekly. I have never missed a single event, and now I have over 400 cars in my garage.
Christmas 2014 was a blast to the past, as I got GT3 and GT4 on the PS2, as well as Midnight Club LA on PS3. I have spent a long time on all three, with GT3 being the most time.
And now, I’m beyond racing games, though I still play GT6, and now I ironically play more Guitar Hero and Rock Band through my Wii U’s backward compatibility. I hope on getting a good PC, a wheel, and Project CARS soon.
Last, but not least, thanks for the past ten years.
Oh boy… There are a lot of things I have done in the amazing game known as Forza. So if I had to choose one out of the past ten years, it would be when I finished my first endurance race in the 2005 Forza Motorsport. I beat it around 2006 or 2007, but I would only be four years old in 2006. So beating the endurance race around the New York track was a big thing to me. Ever since that year of 2005 I have stuck with Forza as my favorite video game, ever. I was told that even at the age of two I could beat all of my Dads friends at racing games. Now I play with no assists, (maybe a little rewinds lol) and a race steering wheel and pedals. I play one of the Forzas everyday, the same as checking back on the Forza website everyday. But throughout all of the years I think my favorite car would be the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII. This car was the car I raced everywhere. I raced it through tarmac, dirt, mud, rain, and a few storms. No matter what I have always thought that car was the car for the race I was entering. It never mattered what performance index it had to be, I would do it. I am very excited to play Forza Motorsport 6. I would love to keep my collection of every Forza game made going, and have fun doing it. Money is never in the way when it comes to Forza. I would buy Forza Motorsport 6 even if it cost $400. I would save and save until the day I get it. I would like to congratulate Turn 10 for the amazing run they had, and I expect them to have for much more years. And with that, I hope to see many more great accomplishments, and say, good luck!
My best time on Xbox was when I started playing Forza 2. The auction house was the best. Made a lot of friends and foes on the Forza 2 auction house. It was a place where you could go , meet people, and form alliances. Who would have thought that bidding on paints could be so competitive.
Since Forza 2, I have played every Forza game on the Xbox 360 and on the Xbox One.
I have many memories of Forza, however there are 2 that I will remember for a long time:
The first one was my first time playing Forza all together on my (then new) Xbox 360 Elite; prior to Forza and Xbox, I was an avid Gran Turismo player with my last GT title being GT4 on the PS2, however all that changed when my PS2’s disc reader started acting up and stopped reading my GT4 disc, even though I had it fixed a couple years prior for around $120. Rather than waste another $100 or more on having the same issue fixed, only to have it mess up again, I decided to try out Forza 2 that came with the Xbox 360 Elite bundle (which I still have to this day, working well with no issues except for the disc tray sticking) that my brothers received for Christmas of '07 and I immediately was surprised of how well the cars sound and handle compared to GT4. And ever since then I’ve been hooked on the series, acquiring FM2 Platinum, FM3 LCE, FM4 LCE, FH LCE, FM5 LCE, FH2, and soon FM6 (whichever edition they announce) in the process, tuning cars, painting replicas (including Camaro replicas), and racing with fellow community members online, not to mention meeting Forza friends along the way. I’ve enjoyed Forza so much that I occasionally pay the older titles a visit, and based on My Forza History on the Hub I have: earned 8,615 GS, played for over 1,800 days, and collected over 2,000 cars since first playing FM2 up to now. So in the end if it weren’t for my PS2 malfunctioning and Forza Motorsport 2 blowing away my expectations, I wouldn’t be racing with any of y’all, so hats off to you Turn 10 for that and keeping the car enthusiast inside all of us alive!
The second one happened to be when my '70 Camaro was selected to be featured in a HMA article. Back in 2013, when Johniwanna had a thread on the forums for members to share their car if they want it to be featured in a future HMA article, I went ahead and posted my ’70 Z28 in one of the posts just for the heck of it; Only to find out months later, I get a PM from John saying that my Z28 has been selected to be featured in HMA 8/22/13, which made my day with excitement. It was fun writing out the story of it and having pictures dating back to the early ‘90s displayed on the article, it brought back memories every time I view them. And since then, I’ve been working on my daily driver 2000 Camaro (in sig) so that one day, it too may be featured in a future HMA article.
Happy 10th anniversary Forza and Turn 10! Here’s to another decade raises mug
My first experience with Forza Motorsport started with the first release. I picked up a used copy at a local game store in 2007. At the time I couldn’t afford to buy new games so Forza Motorsport 2 was out of the question. I was always a fan of racing games so I thought I’d give Forza a try. I was instantly hooked and played the game for many months.
Unfortunately, due to all the crazy stuff going on in my life at the time and not having much money, I didn’t play another Forza game again until the realease of Forza Motorsport 4. I have great memories of that game though, the most memorable are all the days and nights my son who was just baby at the time fell asleep in my arms to the faint roar of engines as I raced in the public hoppers trying to hone my craft.
It was with Forza Motorsport 4 that my passion for cars really took off. Since then I haven’t played many other games outside of the realm of Forza. During the days of Forza Motorsport 4 as well as Forza Motorsport 5 one of my favorite cars to drive was the '12 Scion tC which eventually led to me buying a 2013 model IRL two years ago.
The Forza series is a great one and I look forward to what the future holds for all of us diehard Forza fans. I would also like to add that I have throughly enjoyed being a part of this community and these forums. I’ve met so many great people along the way that share the same passion for cars and racing that I have. Thank you T10 for creating such an awesome car game as well as your constant involvement with the community. I’d also like to give a shoutout to Johniwanna and Mechberg for hosting the awesome Twitch streams on the Official Forza Motorsport Twitch channel as well as the articles they write weekly in the news section. Last but not least, thank you to all of you that are part of this amazing community. See you all on the track!
My first Forza was Forza Motorsport. I remember the soundtrack, which was great, the cars, (the ME-12 was absurdly fast). But it wasn’t what really stuck with me though.
What stuck with me was Forza Motorsport 3. It had my dream car, the Corvette ZR1, and I was extremely overjoyed because no other game had it, and I could finally experience it. It also was the first time I was featured on the website’s news section for the M.Rossi contest.
But above all, the E3 trailer (of all things) not only further fueled my enjoyment of Forza, but got my mother into it as well-she always joked that if she could find a steering wheel with a stick and clutch, I’d never see my 360 again. Luckily for me, she never did. And I have been “driving” ever since.
I really just want to keep it short and sweet, been with Forza for a very long time, since the second game, had it almost 100% on my original tag, but got locked out of it, and never really got around to doing it all over again, which I feel bad for, but things happen and we just have to roll with it. Since then though, I managed to get into Forza 3, and get the twitter unicorn, and that started what would become a run for the ages of getting all I could. Within Forza 4, I reached not only 1 full set, but 3 full sets with a lot of dups and even triplicates of some, namely my favorite the GT500. I ended up with a total of around 45 unicorns in Forza 4. Then I picked up 3 full sets in the first Horizon. I was addicted! And best of all, it was an addiction that was safe and legal! LOL.
I miss Unicorns in Forza, but I do feel the franchise is better now without them. I guess you could say I’m a fanboy to a degree of Forza, I just might be, but one thing I do know, I am for sure a fanboy of the community. It tore my heart up when I screwed up and did something that took me away for a bit, but thankfully, I was able to mend that up and come back. I’m no where near as active as I used to be, but I still come back. And as hype builds for Forza 6, I shall be here for that too! I simply cannot wait. Long live Forza.
Where dreams are driven.
Thumbs up für 10 years,Forza Motorsport!
Dont wanna talk about the brillant games,as being in a forum, nobody would read this if he dislikes the franchise.
My biggest point of playing forza is the community and the tools given by T10 to create friendship with other same minded guys.
Colabs, sharing, gifting, clubs, user based lobbies… all this stuff made forza more than a game to me. (hope T10 will give back some missed ones of them in FM 6)
I met some of my XBL friends in real life from all over the world, did a roadtrip through Utah, fishing in norway, met some english friends on the RING (i’m living there),
visited Paris and so on…
I joined a forza-facebook page some years ago and we grew sowly, but intensive within the last 2 years…
Many real life meets are done or planned and it all started with some virtual cars.
Wanna thank some special guys that invest a big part of their lifetime to keep our gaming fun alive:
Snowowl-guess there is nothing more i must write…
Johniwanna-great guy and great author…
Simon Miller-leader of the pack…
ChaosteoryCZ-son…
and all the other great painter, developer, moderators, hotlapper, fotographers, tuners, racers…
Hope to see you all here in 10 years and we are still talking about the big name in racing-FORZA MOTORSPORT!!!
Where do I start man ? I didn’t get my Xbox 360 until 6 months after it release and the first game I got was FM2, I’m 20 years old now so around that time I was 11 or 12 years old and honestly the feeling I got playing that game was just amazing !!! The nostalgia I can’t handle right now, makes me wanna go back to playing it again, the community was blazing hot too ! The game was on point in still is ! FM6 is gonna be the god racing game of this year I can feel it, I’m not gonna write a story but I will say that Forza made me get into cars and racing, and for that I love Forza Motorsport and turn 10 forever.
My first forza game was forza 4 and I got it because I had just got a 360 for Christmas.
I can’t believe it has been 10 years here’s to another 10
Tagged, 10 years gone so fast!
I remember I first properly got into Forza through FM2, back in early 2009. Initially was saving my pocket money (had just turned 13 at the time, right) to buy Midnight Club: LA but I was getting impatient with my savings so just went to Gamestation to try and find another racing game. Forza 2 was the first thing I saw in the pre-owned section and I’ll be honest, I didn’t really know a whole lot about it but it looked kinda cool so I got it.
Low and behold, 4 Forza games and upwards of 3000 hours played later, here I am closing on my 6th year on the forums.
I never even thought of the years on the forums! 7 for me, invisible year of browsing and not signing up. Crazy to think how long everyone here has been a part of it and even cooler to see the people who continue to stick around
Summer 2005. I was just out of my freshman year of high school, looking towards a summer spent with my grandparents as my parents were having a second honeymoon in South Carolina. April 2005, I was picking up some game I cant recall the title of at this time and in the corner was an Xbox setup with a demo for some game called Forza Motorsport. Having grown up playing sim racers on the PC, I knew that consoles needed a sim racing title desperately. I remember playing that demo multiple times before I was asked to leave so the store could close. The next day, I was forking over part of my “completing the school year” allowance to pre order Forza Motorsport. Fast forward to May 3, 2005, I had my grandmother drive me to the game store and I picked up my copy of the game. The rest of summer 2005 was a blur. Before I knew it, I was starting my next year in high school and I was saddened that I couldn’t focus my time on Forza. Day one and day last, I will be there playing this wonderful series.
I think my favorite memories in the last 10 years of Forza are just playing Forza 2 & 3 with friends. Racing around the tracks, inventing games, showing off and trading paint jobs. Sadly by the time Forza 4 rolled around my group of friends has sort of dwindled because life has caught up with us, but we still manage to get together occasionally.
One of my favorite memories I managed to catch on video. A glitch during tag when a friend hit me full blast with his car.

I think the only thing I miss is the Maple Valley track. I wish that would come back to Forza. Some of my favorite races were on that track. For me it felt like the perfect layout and length on the full version.
There was also the first time I found the “bump in the road” in Forza Motorsport 2. I was soo hyped to see that Lambo jump.

I just hope I can continue to add to this collection for another 10 years at least.
