Forza Marketing and Reality

All cars in the game automatically have wet weather tyres fitted when you race in the rain.

I dont think for 60 to 120 dollars or so, you can expect a exact copy of the real cars from several different forms of racing can you? Not mention several types and manufacturers of road cars. Just be glad you can play w/o being disconnected.

And seriously you do not think the game is being marketed correctly? Apparently you were not a kid in the 80’s and watched commercials for games. And then get the game and it is nowhere near all of the cool stuff in the commercial. Take it for what console games are, games. Not simulators.

It’s not can’t be that overly complicated to make a Hybrid or KERS system for Forza 6 if Gran Turismo 6 on PS3 have it and PCars. If T10 are cutting a few corners it’s definitely shows when treadless tyres (or tires whatever) leave treaded tyre tracks when they do a burnout. Besides a game developing company that thrives on being as accurate as possible going to great lengths to make the car look as great as possible it seems a bit odd that they don’t try and make the cars function as they do in real life with no KERS or DRS seems strange to me

Nice to see that I have wake an interest about my OP. I’m aware that the some cars been limted that they can be competitive.
But in case of a car like the Nissan GT-R GT500 I ask myself why turn 10 choose such a car, when no other GT500 or DTM Car in the game.
Is then not the Nismo GT-R GT3 the logical choose, instead to press a car in a class that have nothing to do with it.
The GT3 Car runs on tracks whe have in the game and whe have a great GT3 Class.
I know 90% of the players didn’t know the difference between GT3 and GT500 GT-R.
But fact is for me that turn 10 suggest people that there are so acurate in all what they do. One side the screen evrry track for every puddle and otherside they mix race classes how they need it. For me that that fits together. Forza 4 was much more authentic than forza 5 and 6.

I say nothing when turn10 put GTD, GTE, GT2 and GT3 together because that cars are in real very similar. But a GT500 drives more like a Formula 3 Car. Thats what champion Marco Wittmann say about that cars. Thats one of the reasons why he’s is so successful from the beginning. It would be the same when I put a LMP2 Car in the GT Class.
I can live with it, but when I drive the car in know that’s fake. When I put a GT3 Livery on it …it works. So then I hope Gran Tourismo 7 brings a better GT500 Car on NextGen.

GTR GT3 would have been a better choice to fit in with the rest of the GT3’s but i’m sure using this GT500 was easier since Turn 10 already had many of the assets needed to create the car.

Yes, it doesn’t look the same as the GT3 version but I’m personally thrilled to add a Nissan GTR to mix up with the other GT3 cars! The same goes for some of the Ferraris I believe. The Risi cars for example are GTLM or GTE class, but they are balanced in with GT3 spec cars which although less accurate, provides an awesome GT3 grid.

When whe get the porsche pack than whe get another great gt3 car…Porsche 911 GT1 Evo 98…if so than the game have reach a new low point. So much I hope that 1998 winning le mans car will be in the pack…so much I fear that it will run in R Class. That car runs 3:36 min in lemans… but hey let make it 40 sec slower because people don’t care.

3:36 at Le Mans? Seems about right for an R class car at Le Mans. Have you seen the leaderboard times round there? I’d spend less time worrying about cars that aren’t yet in the game!

On a more serious note I do get the point you’re trying to make howver a console racer is never going to be 100% accurate when it is trying to balance performance across 100’s of cars. Do I wish the KERS elements of the hybrid racers was simulated? Absolutely. Is it game breaking? Absolutely not.

This is just a game, you know that right? For $50-60. I say you get more than enough for your money. Sure there are thigs that could make it better, like tx bug and multiplayer issues. But on the whole look at what we get for $60.

I guess when you think that way then developers have no reason to try on the next game. Eh. Only $60? So does this mean we should just wait for Forza 7? 8? What about 10? I mean I’m pretty sure they will be $60 too. So I’ll get better value for my money if I just don’t buy it then right? Features are what makes a great game and what makes the game last much longer. Not just pretty graphics and autovista. Forza 2 was small in comparison to even F5 but the features kept the game alive. Without features to help back the game it becomes boring real fast.

My younger brother is one of those “the game has really good graphics” people for as long as at least the 2600 or NES. So I was thinking the most profitable way for a game to be sold is to new people to the series. Who have no real idea what beloved features in the game that have left for more pretty features.

I know a few things I have typed here may be thought of as contradicting and maybe they are. But, a few things have changed my thinking about how it was not rose-colored glasses that I was looking through when it comes to how good previous games in thks series actually were. Because my daughter wanted to play with her friend on the 360 and since I only have 1 controller for the XB1 and 3 for the 360. She played the older games. And then it all came rushing back to me. How great things actually were with 3 &4 and how 5&6 while a lot prettier but, also a lot less depth too. As far as actual gameplay is concerned. Don’t get me wrong I still like 6 a lot more than 5 but, just less than 3&4.
