I haven’t seen anything, but I would use the minimum specs for Forza 6 Apex as a good indicator.
280 was cheaper by a long shot got it for 70 bucks used amazon stress tested and it shows no signs of letting up any time soon
All I’m gonna say is forza 6 apex I think… coreect me if u want … a benchmark on how forza titles will perform on pc, so if u can play apex , which is a beta so not fully coded and everything so has bugs , then I’m sure youll be fine with this, just by looks of sheer size , devote a SSD hard drive for it 
From what I can work out you buy the game Digitally redeem it on the Xbox website and it will appear on Your Xbox one (if you have one) and under “My Library” on Windows Store and will also appear in your Xbox App for both PC and Xbox (if you have an Xbox)
I only want to play it for the PC and not Xbox One and have bought this
and I got this email which shows you will need to redeem the game through Xbox Website
So I don’t think It will appear in the Windows Store as its available Digital Everywhere already and will automatically appear under “My Library” on Windows Store when released or at least that what I have worked out

Many thanks for posting that. Like you, I am PC only and this is also my first digital download (always bought discs before), so I was unsure of the procedure. Game was the only place I could find all the versions for the UK. The other suppliers I found either switched to dollars, only offered standard or seemed to imply Xbox only (so I didn’t trust them).
I still haven’t decided which version I;m getting yet but it will probably be ultimate just for early access.

Quick question. I know this is impossible to answer correctly right now. But just tried F6 Apex on my computer. Ran steady 71-72 fps constant. How close of a benchmark do you think apex is to FH3? Hopefully I won’t have to much trouble running FH3. I know my graphic card is great. But still need to upgrade the rest of my computer to get it more up to date 
Performance should be similar. Apex targets 60FPS on Xbox, and Horizon targets 30FPS to do twice as much per frame at the cost of controller response. So they should run similarly on similar system with similar settings*. This is where the asterisk as settings may differ between the two games. But if you can run apex on high with 2xMSAA and 16x Anisotropic then you should be able to employ similar settings on Horizon 3. But, that is the beauty of PC games, you can change settings to suit your own perception of what is acceptable gameplay. Some people want Raw frame speed, others prefer eye candy. But if Apex runs ok Horizon should too.
I run Apex at a solid 75FPS with everything at max so i’m confident that Horizon will run similarly, but i’ll be all over youtube telling people if that’s not the case. lol. Check out some digital foundry videos they have of the Horizon 3 demo so far, and keep an eye out for more as they become available.
Out of interest what are your current system specs?
This is an important point you make. You don’t have to play a game maxed out to have a great and beautiful experience.
Personally, I don’t like motion blur so that always gets turned off and I don’t have a huge monitor so the larger AA settings and resolutions don’t benefit me. 1080p is great for me, no motion blur and low AA settings (or none). In fact, for GTA V (different game so not comparing, just stating), I ran everything at the top settings, except motion blur was off, AA was off, grass was one setting off top and I had the extended settings on full. I never experienced any of the stutters and issues that others did.
Similar for Apex too. 1080p, 2xAA steady 60fps, I think everything else on full (not sure about anisotropic filtering) and it was pretty much smooth sailing for me. The very occasional stutter but that was more to do with optimisation/coding than my systems performance.
For the record:
i7 920 (OC’d to 3.6Ghz, 16mb RAM, GTX 970, 1080p monitor, no SSD.
To be honest for me, as long as it looks and plays nice I’ll be happy. I don’t need to reach have everything at full to enjoy a game. Even if the game isn’t well optimised and I have to knock it down to say, X1 style settings (I’m not bashing X1 there), it’s still going to look great and most of all - it’s a Forza Horizon game on PC.
Right now im Running I7-3770 3.40GHz, 16gb ram and Evga 980Ti. Did my test with everything on ultra in the rain with cars. The lowest I got was 68. But it usually stayed at 71-72 constant.

I Personally turn off:
Motion Blur
Depth of Field
Lens Flare
Filters or any Rendering Mode the game might offer
I love these. Srsly. Some games look pretty boring without these things. They should be optional, but never let it die.

If doen correctly those effects can add depth and atmosphere to a game, but usuallly they’re overdone. Lens flare has gone overboard thanks to JJ Abrams. It was a stylistic choice for a sci-fi movie, and now all game devs seem to think you need blinding everytime you look up. In a game at midday that’s realistic, but at sunset it’s not, and breaks the immersion in many games. Motion blur used to be put in racing games to hide deficencies in computer hardware. I think that’s why they’re in Forza games as we all know the Xbox One is hardly cutting edge. It was at the time i bought it about 8 times less powerful than my PC. So things that might help hide that like motion blur are included but on PC you can turn them off if you prefer clarity over feeling.
Me, i usually crank everything up and see what it looks like, but some effects i turn off, but it’s different things turned off in different games. Like you say, each to their own, but on PC it’s nice that we all have the choice.
Something I wonder as well is; Can you get your files such as tunes and designs from Forza Horizon 2, and Forza 6 on the PC? I am switching from Xbox One to PC and want to know if I can get some of my designs or builds on the PC.
I know you can transfer your design from FM6/FH2 to FH3. And I would believe that since FH3 is connected to your user. That every content you have on your xone will be available on pc. If you win a car on pc, then you can use it on xone, and visa versa.
I was chatting with the Microsoft support today. The guy I chatted with told me that the game is just getting streamed in Windows 10. Seems like even the store support does not know what’s going on.
Translation: ME: Hello, i want to preorder Forza Horizon 3 for Pc.
ME: i just don’t know if i can preorder the Ultimate Edition for PC and play at the 21st.
Support: Forza will be streamed from the XBOX to PC. You have to put the game into your XBOX to play it. It’s not possible to directly play it with your PC.
ME: but they announced that dorza will be playable on PC

Sadly, I forgot to screenshot the last sentence he wrote. He just told me to call the support and that he gave me all the information he got.
Obviously the person you were talking to either can’t communicate properly or is an idiot. There have already been official videos of the PC version running at 4K at 60 fps. Not to mention the tons of articles out there on the PC version at 4K. (just one of many found with a simple google search: Forza Horizon 3 Is Mind-Blowing in 4K - IGN ) The horizon 3 demo at E3 even brags about cross platform play and has a guy using a G27 on the PC to play it on stage (more evidence it isn’t just streaming form an Xbox). Like I said the guy works at Microsoft but obviously knows ZERO about gaming. If you order the xbox one version digitally, it will also be available to install under that same account on your PC if you wish to install it. Pretty simple.
