Forum Moderation

The forum moderators are placing people’s accounts under moderation and then preventing their posts from appearing whenever they try to post things. Why?

And I already know what they’ll say…”posting about Moderation is not allowed on the forums”. And they’ll lock this forum. I wouldn’t be surprised if they delete it.

They’ll also probably say “you agreed to the Terms of Service when you first accessed the forums”. One of those terms is something about the moderators having discretion to remove posts “as they see fit”. That is dangerous, because it is subjective. I know people who have tried to post totally benign things and the post has been prevented from being visible, presumably because it didn’t lob an incessant amount of praise to Turn 10.

The game is good, but it has flaws. Some of them are serious. My opinion is people should be able to voice their displeasure here without the fear of being censored.

The reasoning varies, from new accounts, to monitoring accounts that have been previously suspended for violating the Code of Conduct.

Correct.

Correct. Moderators are entrusted to make judgement calls based on terms set out in the Code of Conduct.

Incorrect.

They can, provided they don’t post persistently negative commentary, as described in the Code of Conduct.

Since this account wasn’t under moderated status, which of your accounts have posts being held up by moderation?

Look what you’ve done! You just censored people and cited “users should not respond to posts which clearly require moderator attention”. What IS that?!?!

There’s a difference between discretion and what’s going on here.
