For MX-5 Challenge which one of the two is best, the 1990 or 1994 version ?
I have understeer if that helps.

I don’t think it matters, really. I’ve found that the AI isn’t good at launching at the start of the race so you can get ahead quickly and control the pace.

They will be about the same. In stock form the 1994 should be a little faster but the 1990 will probably handle a little better, the difference is small enough that it is more about the driver than the car. I had no issues winning all of the races on difficulty level 6 in the 1990.

The biggest obvious difference is the 1994 has a hard top and the 1990 has no top, it is also worth noting that only the 1994 has the option for a wide body kit. So if you are only planning on leveling one of them up to level 50 pick the one with the top/body kit you like better.

I went with the 1994 version as is has a 1.8l and should have more scope for levelling up. It handles very nicely, much better than the 2020 Supra I am using elsewhere.

um 1990. (is better)

'94 drives very well for me.

So I have now gotten both the 90 and 94 to level 50. For D and C class I like the 90 better, I increased the displacement to 1.8L and gave it the alignment and spring rates I run on my real life 1996, drives great. I tried the same D class tune on the 94 and it still drove well but wasn’t as fun as the 90.

I turned the 1994 into an A Class V8 build. It is a very very fun car to drive and on the few A Class rival events that I tried was posting top 100 times on the global leader boards, really looking forward to the A class multiplayer event this week. I tried the same V8 tune on the 90 but it ended up being a little twitchy and the front end seemed too light, I think it might of had something to do with having to stagger the tire setup because there is no 235 rear tire option on the 90 it jumps from 225 to 245.
