The number that you see on that screen is YOUR follower count. It always shows your follower count no matter whose profile you’re looking at. That’s why it’s always the same. There’s no place in the game to see the follower count of other gamers.
initially, when the game first came out, it was like now but they had fixed it where you go to followed players and you could see the followed players they had. i think it reverted back to only showing your own total followed since the last update
