I’ve noticed in game when navigating menu’s there is some performance degradation / framerate drops on the background UI. Like when switching from the “Buy a car” selection to “My Car”.
Switching between various menu navigation options that results in the background 3D scene changes within the ‘garage’ lets call it, feels really poor.
Also the wait times seem extensively long when buying a car, or accepting a car as a gift with a custom paintjob/design vs manufacturer colors of cars. What I’m referring to is after selecting the custom design and you purchase the car, the “saving” progress indicator takes a very long time to complete.
After receiving a gift pack of a number of cars and wanting to add them to my collection, (or buy them for 0 CR), the whole process of getting the car into my garage is painfully long due to the model loading, then waiting on paint job / designs to load, then the final saving screen is just too long, it detaches me from the action of getting back into racing and enjoying the game.
As a result I’ve resorted to accepting cars with stock manufacturer paint jobs just to speed up this process.
Overall I think FM7’s UI is a bit sluggish and could use some additional attention.
It reminds me of the days of Gran Turismo 5 on the PS3 and it’s awfully long wait times just to get around the menu (although not as bad).
I’m hopeful to see some performance improvements in future patches!
But in terms of the racing action, I can’t get enough and enjoying this game a lot! I can’t wait to play this on Xbox One X later this year.
