The weather is still not consistent in online play. It rained the entire practice and qualifying but the second the race is to begin, it immediately gets dry. I’m leaving power on the table that I can use by just running sport tires, I run the race ones because I figure I’d need the wet compound so I don’t go sliding all over the road.
Maybe I’ll just stay out of rain rooms to avoid the headache.
For me HDR worked fine, well it’s oversaturated like always but it works.

Mine just completely stopped working.
The headlights no longer take advantage of the brightness of my monitor, and the dark areas are grey, instead of black (I’m using a QD-OLED display)
You play with an AMD GPU?
Me 2 well thought there might be an AMD problem.

Everything about this game continues to give the impression that there’s only an outsourced/offshored skeleton crew working on it part-time.

I have played roughly 10-12 races this evening, all free play races and have initial thoughts.
The good:
- Enjoying the tyre wear
- The AI seem to be more aggressive now and generally more entertaining to race against
-FSR quality looks much better now (although haven’t tried for a while) - I have been trying out all settings this evening, ray tracing still appears to do basically nothing
The bad:
- 3x crash to desktop in just 12 races. I have 1 for the 5 week period of update 7 and zero on my XSX
-AI still struggling to overtake me or back markers making longer races pointless
- paintwork on cars at night looks awful when headlights shine on them

“making on-track collisions more impactful”
does that mean regardless if its intentional or non intentional?
seems to me it’s gonna be worse than ever if its just a boost to points taken for collisions
I did like 7-8 races, from one make to multi-class, and the AI is not any better.
The faster class getting stuck behind the lower class, lower class getting scare if you take the insdie making them to go off the circuit. I run in the lower class vs faster class with drivatars and they got stuck behind me a couple times, they go aroung you fine if you give them the space in the corners.
Also I did a couple one make races with the Caterham SL R500 (which is already in the game) in Lime Rock, I don’t know if it’s the track, but they all go to take grass like crazy, I think it doesn’t help upgrading my Caterham to S class, but that shouldn’t happen to be honest.
Because that’s exactly what it is. Just watch the game credits. Turn10 barely has any in-house employees.

Yes too nuanced for me. I didnt really say much, just odd that you said you were “super happy” for something you didnt try out. Now you’ve clarified that you’re super happy they’re listening and actually working on something.
I cant say i share you’re super happiness though. The ai doesnt seem to brake check as much, thats a positive, but since theyve acknowledged the ai deficiencies in january we’ve only seen 2 small improvements, not fixes but improvements. At this rate how long do you think it will take to actually have a decent race against them.
Cutting the pit at ohio, sure its nice that theyve fixed it but its 8 months after it was known it was an issue. The only thing that im happy about in this update is the tire wear multiplier, but, lol but, they didnt do the same for fuel usage.
Im definitely critical of this franchise, i always have been because i like forza and i want it to improve. But at a certain point, namely the launch of this game, i cant blame people for being overly critical myself included.
As a long time player and fan i feel as though they disrespected the franchise, themselves and the players with this game. I am not going to feel thankful or congratulate them for fixing mistakes or adding basic features and options they decided to leave out.
Theyve had plenty of time to listen and respond, 20 years of player suggestions, issues and concerns. They arent fixing the game because people are asking them to, theyre fixing it because they have to. This is the only game they make, its been treading water since release, theyre trying to save it, theyre trying to save themselves.

They only specifically worked on the ai randomly braking on straights etc. Nothing else has changed, maybe update 10 will have the another improvement because update 9 has a new track and they cant release both at the same time.

I see, I thought there was more to it but not for now I guess.
I did a 30 lap race at brands with gtx cars x3, i had stock tires so it worked well for me having to pit midway. The tires were totally gone by lap 13-14 but stayed on them till 16 so id only have to pit once. But since theres no option to disable upgrades, other cars were using race tires which allowed them to last longer than me. It was fine though because for me at least these options are handicaps i give myself more than anything.
A test lap is definitely necessary to set things up properly. Just watch out for wheelspin or lockups on the test lap because their effects are also modified.
No thats it, first tweak was for the lead ai not getting as large a lead and this was for brake checking. At this rate, its going to be quite awhile before they imo race at a competent level.

Putting the 935 behind the gated sham of career mode. Weak.

I was under the impression that they weren’t going to release a track in update 8 as they were spending all their time on bringing massive changes to the A.I?, instead they must have dropped that idea somewhere in the last 5 weeks and spent all their time working on two Mobil signs.
Does Mobil have any idea on what a mess the game is? Exxon should know about making a mess cough Valdez oil spill

I meant in the YouTube presentation video, explaining all the ‘new’ features, cars and other stuff. They should get one of the ladies from PGG to do the voiceovers, rather than this robotic droner.
