2024 Lotus 66
A track day car based on three designs for an unsung Can-Am racer drawn up by Geoff Ferris in 1969. It was never built beyond the drawings and a model, which sat in the Chapman family archives for over 50 years. In 2024, Lotus finally brought the 66 to fruition as a limited production track day car, with 10 units to be built. It has a period-correct Chevrolet V8 push-rod tuned by Lotus to develop 830 horsepower at 8,800 rpm, with 750 N-m (550 lbf-ft) of torque. Transmission is a 6-speed sequential gearbox in a paddle shift transaxle layout with a wooden gearshift and dog gear engagement, plus a mechanical limited-slip differential. Body is carbon fiber with an adjustable rear wing, and the chassis is an aluminum monocoque frame and chassis panels.
