As if Horizon Tour wasn’t bad enough to begin with, this time I had a first race with a few rammers, finished 2nd but at least the team won. Then we had about a 15 to 20 minute wait after the first drive to event was done before the next race even started !
By then everybody else had dropped out so at least it was an easy 2nd & 3rd race with just me and the AI so got the 1st place in those with a mile or two ahead couple of wins to finish the event.
What a shambles this whole thing is. Just Fix it or Drop it PGG. It doesn’t work !
It just goes to show that tunes which have better stats in some areas, like handling, are not necessarily the better tunes. I had a tune on, which was slow, and it just failed big time. Its stats were better than yours.
I hadn’t given your tune a go yet and slapped it on.
What a difference., better acceleration and handling and just a pleasure to drive.
Your stats were lower though
Once again, it just goes to show that some tunes which look better, are not necessarily so.
Thanks. Glad you got some use out of it. And yeah, even at best, stats dont tell the whole story. At worst, they straight up lie. Sometimes all you can do to know for sure is test. At least the formulas for building cars right are more straightforward, so numbers can just be what they are.
I was looking for some help with completing this week’s Season Events and I have 3 days left to complete. I’m new to Forza (PS5) so tips are appreciated. When the car restrictions say S2 998 for example, does the car have to be the S2 class with a 998 rating or does it have to be S2 class and the vehicle not exceed the 998 rating? Also, I’m trying to complete Danger Sign Los Jardines (Anything Goes S2 998), Speed Traps Federal Highway (Anything Goes S2 998), and Speed Zone Camino Del Cielo (Anything Goes S2 998). Can someone that completed all these or one of any of these on the list please suggest the car and tune used? I know it’s a lot to ask but the help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
to mess with your head, the seasonal PR Stunts are nearly always have a maximum restriction - cars exceeding the class limit do not work but cars of a lower class do work - but championships and such are always “has to be that class”
to make my life more interesting I don’t use upgraded (or even tuned) cars for any of the weekly activities, it’s extremely rare that a task is simply impossible without upgrades and also very rare that a task isn’t actually reasonably easy in a completely stock car
for the danger signs and speed traps it’s simply a question of having a long enough run-up and high enough top speed, almost without exception, you might need to muck around with the specific route you take to get to the trap/sign
for speed zones it’s often more about the Handling statistic and less about Speed - the thing here is that if you can go round a corner/bend at high speed your average speed does not suffer so much as a lower-handling car, even if it has a high top speed (acceleration and braking are also helpful but I tend to concentrate on handling)
for drift zones it’s basically about technique if you aren’t in a very powerful car, you need to switch off ABS, STM, TCR and it probably helps to use Simulation steering and you might want to consider manual gears not automatic - I often find a low-power car can be wiggled sideways left and right over and over, gaining a couple of thousand points each time and by the end you have what you need
trail blazers are basically the same as speed zones (fixed start and end with the minimum time between the two) only there’s no fixed route; for these you basically need to figure out a route where you don’t smash into things and are on roads (or at least flats) as much as you can be, then you just go in at the highest speed possible
feel free to ask more questions if you want, I post every week in the seasonal thread with the cars I used (I do have all of them, though, and I don’t avoid DLC cars), if you want some specific (stock) suggestions I can help there using my spreadsheet of nerdy doom
To add on to what @SpirantCrayon22 said, a lot of seasonal PR stunts in the S2998 range can be done by cars in the Hypercar class without any upgrades; some Extreme Track Toys work well too, especially for Speed Zones that require more handling. Like Spirant, I do seasonal tasks with stock cars if it’s possible to do so, and I have a few go-to cars in that class. For most speed traps I’ll go with the Koenigsegg Agera RS or Jesko, the former more for its raw acceleration and the latter for its top speed. Either of those should handle both the Federal Highway and Los Jardines stunts in one shot easily; you may have to lay off the gas or brake a bit for the curve between the two, but that should be it. (Honestly, just about any other hypercar in the game with max top speed stats should be able to do the same.) For Speed Zones on tarmac, a common choice for me is the Brabham that was part of the Hot Wheels DLC, which has insane aero grip and can handle the curves on most speed zones with ease. I’ll sometimes use the Ultima Evo for certain Speed Zones too. I think those should do the job for Camino del Cielo. I know all of these are pretty expensive cars, so if you’re a newer player they may not be immediately available to you, but hopefully there’s something in those classes with comparable stats that you have access to.
Going beyond these specific PR stunts, my go-to for a lot of offroad tasks is the Hoonigan RS200, which is an absolute beast of a little car that tears up most Trailblazers and dirt Speed Zones. For a few of the PR Stutns wtih dirt/offroad run-ups, as strange as it may seem my go-to is usually the Rimac Concept Two. It’s very much not an offroad car by default, but it has AWD and probably the most insane acceleration in the game, so it can get up to speed very quickly and give you enough to clear those stunts. For Drift Zones, even with an S2 restriction I’ll usually pick one of the Formula Drift cars in S1, though for some Hot Wheels zones with plenty of room I’ll even swing the chunky Hoonicorn around.
It’s from the FE Beetle. There’s a post for it in the engine swaps list in the tuning section. I haven’t done much with the sp2 so I can’t add much to that. Edit: Geez it’s 250k.
Bizarrely it can swap in the '90 RX-7’s engine, similar situation to the Beetle and SP-2 in that it’s the only car that has it available.
Unsurprisingly it’s little more than a novelty in B class though, 217hp was the highest I could get it from the base 200 on Offroads so on launch + straights even some C Dirt cars would probably leave it behind, handles well but due to that frankly woeful power-weight I had to drive the absolute proverbials out of it just to get it there as water also absolutely destroys it’s speed due to it’s very low ride height even at max on Rally suspension.
I love how fair and balanced our AI is in this game. I pulled a 2nd-place 2:51 on Dunas Blancas in the Trial with what was basically a clear run, no banging or major mistakes to speak of. The AI running in 1st pulled…a 2:47. A full 4 seconds clear in a sub 3-minute race, when we both should have had identical cars. Uh-huh, sure. We had two more attempted runaways on Gran Pantano, but I managed to track them down past the halfway point, and amusingly we wound up with flipped times from the first race.
funniest one I’ve seen is mid-air acceleration, one cc with a huge jump, can’t recall which, immediately after the jump a robot was just in front and slower and then it was pulling away from me - superb traction on air, presumably robots get this tyre compound but we can’t
