Getting Speed Skills in the Eliminator is actually pretty easy especially as stated by others that you can get them done in the wait for the start. If you use a quick car to start at the east end of the motorway you can easily knock out a good few Ultimate Speed Skills in fact before you get dumped into the base cars in the event.
At least it’s not as the name suggests - i.e. don’t get caught / knocked out at all or worse still win it.

Weird bug on this weeks EventLab this morning, crossing the start line didn’t register. Ended up driving 4 laps and then classified last

that’s odd; I have once, or maybe twice had a thing where as soon as the race starts I have a “missed checkpoint” warning - not what you had though
As soon as the event registers you are in gameplay so do anything you need to do before it clicks into the car choices….

2 word option: See clues.
Videos do have their place here still though, as new players can find some clues daunting, especially with bad translations that sometimes occur. My preference would be for hyperlinks rather than embedded content, because of the space taken.

Most of these sort of things have a kinda freeroam section before the actual gameplay mode kicks off.
Horizon Tour & Open have it when you’re stuck waiting for an event in play to finish, H&S and Eliminator has usually a very small window before it locks you in so it might be a bit trickier with this one though it’s usually slightly longer than H&S.

Man I wish that was my experience this week I’ve tried it 3 times and still haven’t beaten it. It’s not only other people’s fault either as I kinda suck with the car this week too.
