If you compare with previous games it’s way too early to know. I think it was over a year past release date before we got any hint about expansions, but I might remember wrong.

Typically a Horizon’s DLC expansions consist of one “serious” expansion, i.e. an area with more roads etc but in a realistic style, and one “gimmick” expansion like Lego or Hot Wheels.
So for #1 is there a style of Japanese roads / terrain that hasn’t been covered in the main game? Maybe another rally-focused area with majority dirt roads?
For #2, are there some popular Japanese automotive toys that could be licensed, or a popular anime / TV series that they could bring to life?

Hot Wheels is cool, but I’d rather see an expansion focused on visual customization with neon lights and NOS. Especially since car customization culture in Japan is incredibly rich.

I was thinking of an Endurance Racing Expansion with race cars that are built for Forza Motorsport. Especially Super GT race cars. Also, a race track like island map that’s like the size of Nürburgring with a city too.

FH4 had both expansions released by June 2019 (release: September 2018), but that’s not really a benchmark
FH5 had the Hot Wheels Expansion come out in July 2022 (Release: November 2021), Rally Expansion in March 2023, so expect min 8-9 months wait now, maybe longer considering that FH5 lasted for 4 years, so maybe they’ll stretch the Expansions again

Having the information prior to launch would certainly be nice to help make the determination if the premium inclusion is worth the price for each individual. If it were confirmed that another Lego expansion was included, I would definitely pass.

I don’t think they’d want to you to pass on a purchase hence the value for them to keep this under wraps. Expansions tend to polarise opinion.

Yep, that’s understood & part of the strategy I’m sure.
I try to keep my expectations realistic & consider the total demographic they are targeting, but from my perspective, expansions that compliment the existing map with similar racing structures, rather than a completely different platform that exists within its own realm. I felt the Rally expansion for 5 was a great example of this.

Personally, I’m hoping that the expansions will be something different to what we have had in earlier Forza Horizons. I think we need something fresh and not rehashed like Lego or Hot Wheels. The Devs have certainly had enough time to be a bit more innovative, at least in my opinion. I have the premium version so I am crossing my fingers for something different.

I think it would really awesome if they make one expansion about Wangan Highway (or Tokyo Highway), or at least something with a longer highway area than the current base map.
