Enjoying FM7 on G920

The Demo…yep had me worried, and complaining.
8hrs game play, totally different experience. Really enjoyed my day yesterday and there can be no arguments…this is the best Forza for xbox wheel users.
Today I will tune some of my favourite cars for the wheel and get my head around the new class system.

As for settings the below works great for me. If you get wheel oscillation then as suggested elsewhere a little wheel damping will help.

Steer, Accel, Decel---------0-100
E-Brake and Clutch–Default
Vibration------------------0
FFB scale-----------------100
DOR------------------------540
Steer Lin-------------------52
FFB under steer--------5
FFB min------------------100
Wheel damper-------------0
Center Spring--------------0

DOR is car class dependant…360 to 540 for me, race to road. Drift lads might want full 900.

XB1 or PC?

I’ve written this a few times in various threads, but I agree that there is a good experience to be had with a G920, FM7 and an XB1.

PC is a gamble, it’s either good or not and it’s pure luck of the draw.

There are many things I do not enjoy about FM7, but I have found a way to make it work for me so I can enjoy the good that is there. It’s possible for me as a long time Forza player of 10 years, but I feel for my friends and really have to help them out with Forza. It can be hard to love with all the stuff that gets in the way of the great experience.

Xbox 1

Thanks for your settings. I just started with the default ones and it felt pretty good. But I have since moved the FFB scale down to about 75 and left all the others as not really sure what they all do!

If your interested I explain in detail what each setting does in the video in my signature.

I am using a G29 on PC with similar settings except I have my degree of rotation set to 900 and I am really enjoying how it feels. My buddy is using the same settings as me on a G27 with similar results. We did a race in the Nurburgring lastinght and both cars felt great and it was a lot of fun. I was using an Honda S2000 with a PI of 600. The car was mostly all handling, with a racing exhaust and fly wheel for the engine. It felt very predictable to handle with the wheel and I am very happy with Turn10’s wheel support… can’t say the same for VIP lol

The OP’s settings are the same ones I use in FM7 and FH3 and it feels pretty good on my G920 as well. The only difference on mine is I do have the Vibration turned up to 45.

G920 is a great wheel for the price. Thrustmaster and Fanatec may have better quality setups, but they cost much more to get a similar package to what the G920 provides. It is an excellent entry-level wheel if you’re just trying out an FFB wheel and don’t want to break the bank.

Finally, something I’ve read which has started to make me regret cancelling my pre-order. I hated the demo.

I’ll wait a little longer to order the standard edition again, see what plans t10 have for the future but im more optimistic now.

Thanks for the post

I use the G920 on XB1 as well.

Try something like (I’m at work and can’t remember all my settings)
Vibration 80
FFB scale 70
DOR 630 or 660
Steer Lin - 80 to 100 (this might be different on mine, I can’t remember)
FFB under steer - around 100?
FFB min 80
Wheel damper 0 to 5
Center Spring 7 to 10

Not as bad as some make out.
You can add full race suspension and diff plus some other bits and bobs to many cars and keep them within regs.

This allows you to tune for your preferred feel. I have had good results this afternoon making simple running changes.

Common theme many cars are set up very soft especially in rebound in stock from.

Some tyre pressure telemetry is gliched showing temps flipped right to left. The Chevy touring car being the most obvious.

Hope this helps… I am having a blast

‘O’ and the hoonigain escort must be the worse base tune in the game so far (tomorrow project)

Got a few tunes sorted and would love some feed back on the lizard racing Audi, hoonigain escort and Porsche in particular.

Still using the same settings and really enjoying. Will explore again once ffb understeer is patched/updated.

Turn 10 are getting there I am sure our frowns will be turned up side down soon
