I understand that server side game progress is beneficial for cheat detection. But why block offline car tuning/upgrades in Free Play? It’s a very negative point, in my opinion, to leave this behind an online barrier. I say this thinking about players who have a poor internet connection (myself included) and when the game’s servers go down in the future. I wish I could buy cars and level them up offline, but apparently that’s outside the design of this game…
Anyway, thinking of a way that requires fewer changes to the game in its current state, I think allowing rental car tuning/upgrades in Free Play and saving the setups locally on the PC/Console would be enough. This allows us to play with a bad internet connection or completely offline and race with “drivable” cars (considering most of the default setups are not great). And I also believe that it shouldn’t impact multiplayer or e-sports, considering that the Free Play mode is single player only, and rented cars have no progression.
Please make the game playable offline, as in let us drive our cars and not have to start the whole game again. My internet occasionally drops out, the game stops dead in it’s tracks and stops whatever I’m doing - even painting!. I’m then forced back out to the landing screen where I have to select the graphic performance options and accessibility options. Thereafter I am met with the menu screen where I’m severely limited to a bare bones version of the game - Not even my VIP cars appear!!.
Please remove this online only gameplay because I can not play the game at all.

Exactly. I will even change a little of what I said above. The game should allow to play freely offline. Choose whataver car, paiting, performance upgrades, tuning, and race against AI. But sadly I don’t think they will do anything about it. Seeing what they are prioritizing on the recent updates, my hopes are really small. It’s just new cars and tracks.

They need to add this ASAP.
Here’s a list of things that should be added to offline:
- make career mode, cars in garage, the ability to make or use downloadable car designs, the ability to make or use downloadable car tunes, and the ability to upgrade cars an offline feature.
- add the ability to save the game locally on hard drive.

They need to make offline mode the same as online mode. That is the only acceptable option.
