Can people please for the love of baby jesus stop braking on eau rouge and take it flat out, the amount of times I have been given penalties for being brake checked at 150mph is getting silly now
Tunes? You have to know how to tune every car except the AMR Pro to take that series of bends flat.
Can people please for the love of baby jesus stop assuming every other car+tune behaves the exact same way as theirs, or that every other driver uses the exact same settings, or that every other driver must always follow the exact same line, etc.?
Your preferred braking points might not always work for everyone.
You don’t know all the factors that affect someone else’s braking:
• You don’t know how their car is set up (unless it’s a fixed-setup race).
• You don’t know if they’re using any assists or settings that might affect their braking.
• You don’t know how comfortable they are with their car/setup, or how familiar they are with the track, or what their skill level is.
…etc.
Besides, there is no single precise point where all cars & drivers must always brake for a turn - there’s usually a general braking zone, and different drivers in different cars using different setups/settings might brake at different areas within that zone.
Plus, if you’re following close enough to draft, your braking point might be earlier than it would usually be when you’re not drafting, so it could be your mistake if you brake where you normally would without considering the draft effect.
One would think that if one is repeatedly receiving a penalty for running into the back of another car going into Eau Rouge, eventually said someone would learn to maybe back off and leave a bit of room, while maximizing their exit speed, allowing for a relatively straightforward pass on the following straight.
Hidden improvments of the penalty system ?
It’s deserved
What class of car you running to not have to brake there?
It’s entirely plausible that someone has to brake into Eau Rouge depending on the car and tune. You’ve got to anticipate that I’m afraid and use your greater grip if you can take it flat out to get a better corner exit. Otherwise, if you hit them that’s on you and you deserve the penalty.
Brake checking to defend a corner or just to screw up someone’s race is one thing. Braking to properly maintain a corner is another. If you’re the faster driver then brake going into the corner to avoid the slower driver and take them cleanly on the following straight.
bro acting like Forza physics allow taking it confidently even in GT3
Like everyone else said… It all depends on car, and setup u are driving, if it’s Exocet in b class I bet u can no brain this corner flat out, but try taking this corner flat out In b class Bugatti type 35. (Btw u didn’t say what type/class of races)
But on other side it does not change the fact, that u are supposed to brake before corner to get best possible speed on exit, so if someone brake mid corner, guess he realized he went too fast into corner too late..
Sorry I should have mentioned the class, either GT3 / GT2 or protos when they are available
Out of all GT cars the only one I have to let off with is the M4, every other car in these classes can take eau rouge flat with exist speeds of 150+
I’m not even a faster driver I can only hit 2.18s maybe 2.17s if I have a good lap.
There is no brake marker for eau rouge that’s the point, even if you have to slow down ease of the throttle to say 25% turn in then hit the power as you go up the hill but most people brake at this point. So they match pace into the corner then slam on the brakes when not required
Which also means that even professional, highly-skilled, highly-paid, experienced F1 drivers can struggle with it… so, we should expect plenty of video gamers to struggle with it too.
