Drivatars and acceleration / Career single-player

Is there a way to make the physics of acceleration more realistic?

I’ve worked up to Above Average Drivatars in the Career, and can do pretty well on a track with lots of corners. But if there are long straights the other cars just zoom past as if I wasn’t there.

I can corner much better than them, but lose everything in the straights.

I’m playing single-player career mode. Is there a way to make it more realistic rather than ridiculously slow on the straights and really good in the corners?

My best guess is that your car is better tuned for handling than it is for speed and acceleration. If you are not comfy with tuning yourself (I myself am not at all comfy with it!) you can go to the “get tunes” option in the game main menus. Once there look for a tune that has more speed and accel. than your current tune.

There are trade-offs though, you might have to sacrifice some of that cornering for more speed. The key is to find the balance that works for you while still being able to compete. It may take trying a few different tunes but you will eventually get to know which type of tunes work best for you.
