Has anyone else found that while entering a drift or speed zone, that they don’t always detect you entered, by showing your speed or score? While working on my last drift star, going back and forth many times to get my 90,000 score… (I don’t remember the name, but its the one on the left side of the map lower third, shaped like an S going up or down a hill, depending the direction, somewhat near the festival.) I would say 50% of the time after I failed and immediately, then turned around and tried again, it wouldn’t start, even though I entered correctly. I also noticed this with a speed zone, while in a forzathon event, but it seemed more like it would only take me going one way, but not the other. All in different vehicles, btw… This seems like it worked better before the last update, but not 100% sure…
Remember that you have to wait until after the Leaderboard pop-up has disappeared from the screen before you can re-attempt a PR stunt properly. Turn around too quickly and it won’t trigger at all, sometimes if you trigger it too close to when the pop-up disappears you’ll see/hear the “flash” but no score will appear.
Yes, it’s a bit annoying. Sometimes I think the Leaderboard pop-up gets delayed by various reward pop-ups because it takes just that little bit longer before it recognizes zone entry.
Yes I’ve had this quite a bit while going for 3* scores on the drift zones. Usually triggered by using the rewind function to reverse back through the start gate to try again. If you don’t rewind back far enough from the start gate then it is quite common for the start gate to not trigger, but in two variants.
In one case it just doesn’t trigger at all - as if the gate didn’t exist.
In the other case you hear it trigger, and get audio while drifting confirming you are scoring points, but no score is shown at the bottom. In this case the score is working, you just can’t see it, as at the end of the drift run you will get a pop up of new PB along with the usual mini leaderboard and how far off the next star you are.
Repeatable by entering a drift zone, triggering rewind that goes back through the start gate, but only by a short distance. If you go a full additional rewind backwards then it works as normal.
I’ve actually had the score display disappear (but the sound of the points racking up continue) by doing multiple rewinds in the middle of a zone (but not far enough to go back out through the start gate). Usually in those cases I’ve aborted and looped back around (if one run direction is better than the other) as I prefer to have the visual reference on-screen rather than assuming just how many points I rack up from a drift (too may cases of things “looking” good but not giving many points for various reasons)
