So far I’ve only played the first drag race event after getting on the Horizon Roster. I would have thought the light tree would have been used, but the race starts when it says go and you have no time to prepare. Has anyone else raced in other drag events and the tree is used? If it’s not I would hope Turn 10 would fix this!

Could have given us a second or two more to get the revs up at least.

Yeah the drag racing is lackluster in this, No strats and Builds are posted for people to duplicate and win the event. I’ve done all 4 events in drag racing so far and that’s it. The last one mind you isn’t a drag race but a sprint.

It is strange that they went to the trouble of putting these strips in but not have proper drag racing as a result.

I really hope the experimental Drag makes it into Horizon at some point. I was looking forward to drag racing in H4 when I saw the Festival strip with the tree etc but it has been a disappointment. The other strips are actually terrible. And the motorway one can’t even be considered a drag race.

At this point the only thing I can see them being used for is to test straight away capabilities of cars for regular races. Unless they bring out a big update overhauling drag racing as a whole(Which I would love to see). It’s just a tip of a hat to it.

One step forward and two steps back with this series. Gave us drag strips with fake lights but take away the start countdown… makes ya face palm so hard

I know it’s pretty sub par compared to what I expected, but the light trees are on a constant loop in Horizon life. I have found they are more useful for horizon life random drag sessions with strangers and convoys. A buddy and I spent a few hours on the beach one once we saw the trees actually functioned. I was hoping, as I’m sure you were, for realistic use of the trees with false starts and so on. I am hoping that this comes in future updates.

I’m very pleased with having actual drag strips with working Christmas trees. It has added my personal favorite racing style to the game but I have a few things I’d like to bring up.

  1. The Christmas tree is to close to the line. When inside cockpit view of a car at the line it’s almost impossible to see the full tree if not any part of it.
  • also it would be amazing to have a red light although I feel to many game mechanics would need to be added. But a red light would help decide when a player jumps and give practice to reaction time.
  1. Extend the 1/4 track so we have enough time to properly slow down. Even if it’s another 150 ft it would be a big boost.
  2. Some type of nerf to awd cars on the quarter mile. In all reality now awd car will be able to Keep up with a strong rwd car past the 60ft. Even if this meant better engine upgrades to rwd.
    Other then that I’m in love with this new feature to horizon and can’t find myself doing anything but hitting passes on the track! Thank you devs for such an amazing extension to the horizon universe.

1st i want to say I’m am so happy to have drag racing and the fact that the tress work so mock races anytime is perfect its even synced with other players. What i am wondering is why is the races dont have race trees, it just jump you in each race with out the tree, no count down, not even a 3 2 1 go its just GO. Am the only one that is missing this feature in our races, its fun to watch the tree and get a good launch with friends in the free roam its hard to call a winner at times. When we run races we are dropped in with no tree just GO and u have to guess or remember where the rev level should be for a good start so u don’t spin, burn tires, or just late start. what i am hoping for a option to have the tree for custom/blueprint races

by the way i don’t know if its even possible but having blueprint that can pick cars by the engine swap like all Ls Swaps or v12 or stock things like that would be amazing i know we can and do just make limit on buildout but i would like the option

I believe a HUGE drag update is needed in horizon 4, starting with just the seasons, the rain is insanity and ruins the fun of drag racing. It’s raining outside so I can’t enjoy my car I’ll get into a forza lobby only to find out its raining in game too so there goes that idea as well. The rain physics and graphics are gorgeous but become more of a hassle than something to enjoy. As for actual drag options, there isn’t enough to it; it’s a simple system as of right now. Anyone can find the lightest cars and throw a v8 and some sticky tires on and you have a drag car. I love bringing the tires into the game however, it isn’t enough. Maybe being able to pull more power out of a civic with a K series in it or building up that RB to give that LS a run for its money would do the trick. Also getting deeper into things like not only wider rear tires yet also being able to make the front tires/ rims skinny and vice versa for fwd cars. Taking the drag scene up to some Street Outlaws status would be AMAZING, thank you.
