I just purchased an XBox One S. I purchased Forza 7 (not the disc, but a code that was emailed to me)
I entered the code into the XBox store and began the download. It was a pretty slow process.
Once i got to about 25% complete, the game gave me the option to start playing. A lot of the tracks and cars required me to highlight them and allow them to download individually. This wasn’t really a big deal, especially for the cars, because each one went pretty quickly. I played for a while and eventually shut off the system. I really don’t know if Forza was still downloading while I was playing or if it paused.
The next day, I turned on the system to start playing, and there was still the small blue download icon on the image for a lot of cars and tracks. I highlighted the cars and tracks, and got the message that I could continue playing while they download, but the progress bar said 100% for each of them. Still I was unable to select any of those cars or tracks. I waited with the F430 Scuderia highlighted for a couple minutes for example, but the disk just kept spinning. The car never appeared. Did the download stop when I started playing the game? How do I resume it? How can I use all of those cars and tracks? When I search through all of the XBox menus showing my recent downloads, games, apps, etc (Forza is my only one) there is no option to resume download or anything. It is in the recent downloads section which seems to suggest that it is complete.
Thanks for the reply PPiDrive. I have uninstalled and am currently 36% of the way into attempt number two. It says the total size for the game itself is 67.23GB. That is before Hoonigan, but if I remember from last time, adding Hoonigan didn’t get me to 100GB either. Where do I find the update?
If you are only installing on an xbone s the total size is only approx 67gb
The rest is the 4k assets which are only for pc and xbone x which you wont be able to use anyway
I have been having problems with Forza 7 but on the original Xbox One. I uninstalled and saw my file size was 135gb because for some reason I had a copy of Forza 7 on my external and internal drive both at 67.8gb even though the original download was 95gb (I could be mistaken about the original download being 95gb on Xbox as I know for a fact that on PC it is 95gb). I went to reinstall and it will only download 67.8gb and the game will not load past the GT2 RS launch screen except for the first time, in which case I am only able to access the menus without it freezing or not loading the assets needed. Also, any attempt to launch the game after that first time leaves me stuck at the GT2 RS screen indefinitely.
