hi there,
I bought forza horizon 4 and got the key for it. but I can’t find how to download the game so I can enter the key and play. I’m sure I’m missing something. Please help!

Go to the Microsoft Store
As mentioned, go to the Microsoft store, look for redeem code, enter you code there.
If on Xbox, go to manage games, look under ready to install. If on PC, in the Microsoft store, go to ready to install.
Do not start playing when it says ready to play. Let it download fully, and it’d be best to do a console restart from shutdown menu, or restart your PC

Just to add to what @CRracer 912 wrote above. . .
For the PC the game is managed by the Windows Store as an app so there isn’t a standalone software installer that you would download first and authorize later. Instead, you need to assign the license key to your Microsoft Account before you’re given the option to install the game to a compatible device (Windows 10 PC and Xbox One) that you can access with your Microsoft Account. So it’s very important that you register the product key to the correct Microsoft Account!
You can register your license key from a PC in a couple of ways:
• If using the “Microsoft Store” app: Log into Windows 10 using the Microsoft Account that you want to assign the Horizon 4 license. Launch the “Microsoft Store” app and at the top, right-side of the window, click on the three dots “. . .” and choose “Redeem a code”. Take note that the app will let you know which Microsoft Account e-mail address will receive the Horizon 4 license. Afterwards the game will either auto-install or provide you with an “Install” button on the Horizon 4 product page.
• If using a Web Browser: Go to https://www.xbox.com and be sure that you’re signed-in using the correct Microsoft Account. Then, click on “Games” from the top menu bar and select “Redeem Code”. The registration process will let you know which Microsoft Account e-mail address will receive the Horizon 4 license, so make sure that information is correct before completing the process. To install the app, be sure that you’re signed-into Windows 10 using the Microsoft Account that was just authorized for “Horizon 4”. Then, launch the “Microsoft Store” app and search for “Horizon 4” and go its product page. You should see, “You own this game.” along with an “Install” button.
You can also register your license key from an Xbox One console. First, be sure that you’re signed into the Xbox One using the correct Microsoft Account and then open the “Store” icon and select “Use a code”, which is located in the middle of the screen. The redemption process will indicate the Microsoft Account e-mail account that will receive the Horizon 4 license. The installation process should begin automatically from that point.
