(DLC Problems) American police car - Australian map LOGIC

seeing the new car pack has been leaked and they putting in the 2010 ford crown Victoria police interceptor is just plain stupid u want to promote Australian map yet add american police car did they even do any research into Australia there a huge list of things wrong with this game like:

the cars have euro and cali plates just renamed new south wales

non Australian versions of cars 240sx isn’t Australian it’s a 180sx

i was really hoping playground games did a good job once i herd it was going to be Australian map but everyday they seam to be lazy and lacking

Ok so lets reduce the car list in the game to the 15 or so aussie cars.

Yeah I hate driving a Corvette on the streets of Surfers Paradise

Did you play Horizon or Horizon 2?

In Horizon there were several RHD JDM and European cars, obviously the American versions would be LHD. There should also have been no Skylines in Horizon. In Horizon 2 there were several American cars that should not have been in Europe, how well do you think the Ram Runner or Ford Raptor would sell in Europe?

Saying that adding a Crown Vic is like adding an American police car is like complaining that there are BMW’s, Audi’s and Volvo’s in Horizon 1, those are obviously European police cars. I don’t know where you are from, but the Police in America also drive Dodge Chargers yet nobody complained that there is a Dodge Charger in Horizon 3.

Just because the game is based in Australia doesn’t mean there should only be Australian cars. [Mod Edit - warning, do not engage in personal attacks - MM]

SARCASAM ALERT* Your right, that’s why I stopped playing H2…no true Italian and French plates. SARCASAM ALERT*

Also just thought of an in game explanation as to why there would be an “American police car” in Australia. Horizon is a massive cars/music festival that draws people from all over the world, it would make sense that some of these people would bring their cars with them on this trip to Australia. The P71 Crown Vic is a dirt cheap RWD V8 sedan with some factory performance upgrades that has a pretty good following, it would make sense that somebody going to Horizon would bring their Crown Vic with them. The Crown Vic is also apparently a beast at Rallycross.

People have been requesting this car for years, lighten up.

The 12 apostles are like 800+ Km from Byron Bay IRL, does that bother you too?

That bothered a mate of mine…but he just did a doughie on someones front lawn to let out his frustration and then he got on with it.

Heh? Highly requested cars in a car game?

Yep. Stupid. People never buy things when you give them what they’ve asked for.

Silly video game devs…next they’ll be giving us other things people want, and that’ll be the end for sure.

Yeah, that logic makes no sense.

Here’s an idea. Let’s make a game with nothing but Aussie Fords and Holdens. Everyone would get bored in five minutes.

Maybe they should have used aussie plates. But thats an extremely small matter in game. I understand but definitely not something to get mad over.

A number of states in OZ now have the option of a Euro style plate - ACT and NSW (and there is at least one other but can’t remember which).

Oh the things people find to complain about.

I’ll just chalk this thread up to a satire rant , considering one of the most requested cars in the franchise is finally coming. So what if it is an Australian map. American cars were added to Horizon 2, and no one batted an eye. But add american cars in horizon 3, and everyone loses theit minds!

Go have a kinder egg, you’re not yourself when you’re hungry

We have an ad here that uses “Snickers” instead of the kinder egg…lol

An american candy bar, when discussing a gamr set in australia, surely that would be all kinds of wrong, so I went with something more regionally correct

Their biggest sin, by far, is branding the Brumby as BRAT.

This is one of the most stupid thing I’ve seen on this forum for a while.

Relax. Even if a car has police lights as a bodypart option (and I surely hope the Crown Vic does), driving it won’t turn you into a member of the NSW Police. Such iconic cars (Ford Crown Vics, Austin FX4 and Checker A11s taxicabs, and the like) are often bought after they’re decommissioned and sold worldwide to be used as promotional vehicle or “prop cars”: now tell me, would it be outside the realm of possibility and break your suspension of disbelief if such a huge cars&music festival with a budget that’s likely to be in the tens of millions of dollars bought one or two decommissioned Police Interceptors and shipped them to Australia to serve in the Bikini Patrol or what-have-you?

You don’t need to take the addition of the Crown Vic too seriously in the direction you’ve taken it, is what I’m saying.

(P.S: dibs have already been called on the Bikini Patrol Crown Vic concept, back off)

Lets see here, the license plate thing, I can accept. A valid point. But nothing to actually rant about. The bugs some cars have, like the D-Type fuel cap cover constantly wiggling around while driving, thats something to be annoyed about. And European and US cars in Australia? Or US or JDM cars in Europe in Horizon 2? There are thousands of enthusiasts all over the world that pay money to get their dream car imported into their country every day. A Crown Vic Or Ford Raptor in Germany or Australia is not so far off, there are even dealerships selling nothing but imported cars.

That’s why I stopped playing Forza Motorsport 6.

In FM6 you can race F1 and LMP1 cars on Grade 2 and 3 circuits were as in real life those cars can only compete on grade 1 circuits.

Oh and don’t get me started on racing NASCAR on non US tracks, the non us pitlanes are configured differently and don’t have the wall.

And racing BTCC at non British tacks, my goodness you have to be insane!

That’s what I love about games, the ability to do things that you cant really do in real life. I would love to drive a Falcon FG here in England (the BA Falcon is fairly common in the UK, 100% of them though tend to be behind a hearse), or see the BTCC at Road America or have a realistic depiction of the world if Zombies where a thing. That’s the beauty of games, doing fun things.

Also I wonder if it annoys people that us British and Americans play the game in Imperial, rather than the Metric system Australia uses.

No one seams to have batted an eyelid of the Jaguar MkII police car?
