Disappearing Brakes

I’ve just encountered an odd glitch.

I was driving my Ford Transit, and I noticed that the (stock) rear brake calipers were grey, instead of red.

Then, later, I went to the garage, and when I came out, the brakes (front and rear) were gone completely.

So, I went back in, and tried changing my setup (by putting the stock front bumper on, and then taking it back off) and leaving the garage. This time, the discs were back, and there were little black things that look like brake pads, but the calipers were still missing.

So, I went back in and put on the “sport” brakes, and then put the stock ones back on, but this just made them disappear again.

So, I tried changing the bumper again, which had the same effect as before, except this time, the brake pad things were red, like the calipers (which were still missing) should be.

Now, no matter what I do, my van either has completely invisible brakes (discs, calipers and pads), or it just has brake discs with (what appear to be) red brake pads, but no calipers.

Has this happened to anyone else, and is there a way to fix it?

Seems like an interesting little glitch, rather funny. Have you tried downloading someone else’s tune?

No, but I guess I’ll try that and see if it does anything.

Also, after looking more closely, the rear brakes appear to be normal now, but there is most definitely something wrong with the front brakes. They look normal in photo mode, but when you look at it in chase cam, it looks like a red brake pad on the disc.

It’s weird.

I just tried downloading a tune, and it fixed it.

Until I removed the tune. Then it went back to being glitched.

Maybe it just doesn’t like me.

Maybe when I used that tune, it thought I was somebody else.

Does the van still stop? LOL

To simply put it, this is a known glitch that occurs with multiple cars when upgrades are applied in a certain order.

EDIT: Specifically, applying race weight reduction after a brake upgrade causes the brakes to go POOF.

Interesting, did not know this. What rims are you using? You could simply try to hide this issue by using light-weight rims that don’t leave a lot of open space.

I’m using Rota P45Rs. Changing the wheels doesn’t really help, since that would just be covering up something that I don’t want to look at with something else that I don’t want to look at.

But I don’t think it’s due to applying upgrades, because it I just bought another van, and it’s the same way, without even going into the garage with it.

It only appears normal while someone else’s tune is applied.
