Dirty racing and generally bad behaviour while racing online...

Well, calling it racing is up for discussion, I’ll call it destruction derby.

I’ve been racing for some weeks now, both on s-class regulation and non regulation. In the regulation lobbies it’s not too bad, there are some racers behaving badly on track.
But in the non regulation it’s anarchy. It’s the rule more than the exception to be rammed, forced off track, t-boned and so on rather than actually be able to have a good clean fight during a race.
Some contact is normal, that’s just racing. This night in particular is one of the worst, if this were real life I’d be dead at lest ten times if not more.

Please all racers out there, take a minute and read this.

There are some rules in racing, not all of them are in writing, but they are there. It is ALWAYS the car attempting an overtake that is responsible for making a safe overtake.
If the car in front closes the door, don’t keep going and pushing him/her out of the way so you can get through, don’t ram him/her. In that case it’s better to back off, but keep puting pressure on the car in front, he/she will almost sertainly make a mistake, and you can overtake without any problems.

If you should by accident hit the car in front and turn it sideways in front of you, it’s no reason to keep pushing it, again back off. You’ll give the guy in front a chance to “save” the car, and you’ will most probably be able to pass anyway. You’ve allready ruined his/hers race, why ruin your own as well?

Consider the danger about this. A lot of the times I’ve been hit I would be killed easily, most probably the guy in the car hitting me as well, hitting a car under braking which is almost stationary in 200+ km/h is just murder.

I know it’s just a game, but still, think of it as real life situations, how dangerous it is. Guys driving and behaving like they do is a danger to them selves as well and others. I’m reporting dirty racers and kick votes almost every race I do. It should not be that way. Turn 10 you really have to clean up the “trash”.

I’m doing my best to stay a clean and race clean but the way it is now it just isn’t possible. There are so many rotten eggs out there.

Crashing others doesn’t win the race for you, but it almost certainly ruin it!!! The race isn’t won in the fist corner but can very well be lost there.

To all rammers out there, stop racing, if you want to hit other cars go play tag!!!

There may be rules in racing, but this is Forza. The rules are whatever people make them. The best way to go about this is to simply give all other players room when they are close, citing racing rules does nothing but make you look like a tool. The other racer isn’t going to care about them so it will do you no good biding by them. It’s far easier avoiding all the morons and removing the problem racers from your immediate area.

I feel your pain Tifosi and agree with several of your points about racing but sadly as the edcuated Forza racer above states, this is Forza, not real racing. That having been said, I have a different view point on the idiots. Firstly, I have to say that I have had a lot of very good races online with some extremely good racers with great etiquette. When you find a great lobby, it’s a good feeling. You can also look to join a club who hold private races and set rules to the races/leagues they hold which (at least with the ones I’ve raced with) usually results in great racing.

Having said the above, you will encouter idiots regularly still. Reporting them is the correct thing to do if the griefing is obvious but don’t forget that there will be a very mixed level of ability online and someone may just have messed up. When you do come across the idiots, I very much enjoy seeing them coming, delaying my turn in, watching them splat into the wall and then carrying on with a grin on my face. When you do get hit, don’t retaliate of course, you are dragging yourself down to their level if you do. Just see it as a challenege to get back up the grid as far as you can.

Hope you sitck with it and have some great races!

There isn’t much point in this. Yea it’s dirty. It will not change. Hopefully the next Forza penalty system will be more robust and game wide and I really hope there is skill matching. Without skill matching nothing will ever change.

The answer to dirty driving in the public lobbies of any racing game is always: leagues. Find like-minded drivers in the community, be a part of organized racing and your experience will improve exponentially.

Sportsmanship rating would go a long way too. From what I’ve played of GT Sport multiplayer it works pretty well but I just can’t deal with the lack of trigger feedback (PS4 controller lacks that) so I don’t play it much. Private leagues or lobbies of course is the best way to go or god forbid we get back Custom Public lobbies where the host can kick whoever he wants.

Indeed. getting all clean fair racers in a lobby, and all the rotten eggs in other lobbies. Tonight in particular have been an absolute disgrace and insult to fair racing, every single race I’ve been rammed, forced off track, sendt spinning and the list just goes on. I rarely ragequit but tonight I did. Started at fairly good positions, and actually made it through turn one some times, but then at the end of the next straight, chicane or corner, the blinds were all down, brakes completely lost and stupidity at it’s top level, ramming me to hell and back.

Well there is ONE way to retaliate, hunt down the bastards, overtake them nice and clean and leave them in the dust.

Guess that was it for me.

Tifosi out!!!
