Customizable car interior

I feel like there should be a feature for customizing interior in cars. We should have had this in FH5 but we don’t have it. So with the new FH6 incoming the developers should add custom interior features.

What do you think about that?

I agree with you on that 100%, I mean it’s been ever since and a long time we requested it. I don’t always like being in cockpit view of a tuner or muscle car that remains stock, and I cannot add any instruments or features like those below.

Agreed. This should be a necessity. Other older games already have this and Forza can and should have this too.

We need this, because of you’re in first person, you always have the stock steering wheel, which makes it not the style you want it to be sometimes

Thank you Fr3akshow71 & NielsHu! In fact when it comes to weight reduction, it should happen with the car interior as well.

Btw; I opened a topic about this but it was moved to the SHUB archive. It had over 500 votes.

@T10ManteoMax Should it be merged with this one or do we really start over for FH6?

Yeah. We don’t mind.

We’re starting the votes over from zero for tracking purposes, so no merging but we’re keeping the old topics visible for reference. And the team is aware of the previous vote ranking.

Okay. But even after starting over, the topic will come out on top as I and everyone like me hoped.

Sadly this is not the case.

Why do you think of it?

Its only Top 3.

Hi everyone,

I’d like to suggest adding interior customization to the game — specifically the ability to customize elements such as steering wheels, seats, shifters, interior materials, stitching, and possibly gauge or HUD styles. The idea is to expand personalization beyond exterior visuals and performance tuning into the cockpit itself.

Why this would make sense:

1. Increased Immersion

Many players drive in cockpit view, use wheel setups, or even VR. Customizable interiors would significantly enhance immersion and make each car feel more personal and realistic.

2. Stronger Player Attachment

When players can personalize not just performance and exterior, but also the interior, they develop a stronger connection to their builds. It makes cars feel truly “owned” rather than just tuned.

3. Purely Cosmetic = No Balance Issues

If implemented as visual-only customization, it wouldn’t impact performance or competitive balance. It would strictly enhance the presentation layer.

4. Additional Progression & Rewards

Interior parts or materials could be unlocked through challenges (e.g., cockpit driving milestones) or seasonal rewards, adding more depth to progression systems.

5. Monetization Potential (Cosmetic Only)

Optional cosmetic packs could provide additional revenue opportunities without affecting gameplay fairness.

6. Community Engagement

Sharing interior presets or showcasing unique cockpit builds would add another layer of creativity to the community.

I think even a basic first step — such as different steering wheel styles, seat materials, and stitch colors — would already add meaningful depth.

What do you think? Would you like to see interior customization added?

Looks like I‘ve posted the same idea but a bit more specific. What should I do?

Nothing, one of the team should merge yours into that one

Sounds kinda good.

I would very much like to see interior customization added, whether it be gauges, displays, or even steering wheels. Here’s some I can I think of.

  1. Gauges: Allow addition of additional auxiliary gauges (eg. boost, gear indicator, shift lights) and/or allow replacement of existing gauge cluster, either from tuning houses tied closely with OEM (eg. NISMO gauges for the various Skyline GT-R models, which show a higher max reading for both the speedo and tach, or the TRD gauge cluster for the Mk4 Supra, which also has thee same feature) or replace outright with a aftermarket display (eg. STACK or Motec display).
  2. Steering Wheel modification/replacement: There would be two paths to this one. One would be just a replacement of the steering wheel with a custom one, while the second path would be contingent on the car having the race transmission upgrade, which could unlock the option of either modifying the original wheel to fit shifter paddles to the back of it, or replacing the wheel with a custom one that has paddles already fitted, with the shift animation being changed to match. Disallow replacement for cars with paddle-equipped steering wheels.

Its now Top 2.

The fact that they don’t even have interior customization is another massive L. . What are they thinking :sob::sob::sob: they are disrespecting jdm car culture !
