XB1s are finally cheap enough to where I’m ready to jump for FM6/FH3, but I still have my trusty old CSR. I’ve seen some videos of people using the CSR for FM5, but it looked like the configuration was a real Rube Goldberg type setup. I just want to turn it on and go. How does the TMX compare to the CSR? Would it be worth messing with the Cronusmax?
Just get it on PC, more wheel variety and your trusty csr will work without the need for gimmicky devices
This is a really bad suggestion for a few reasons.
- I don’t have a PC that can run FM6.
- TMX + XB1 + selling my CSR will be cheaper than a gaming PC build.
- PC cannot run all the other games I want/have
If you don’t have anything productive to say, sometimes it’s better to keep quiet.
Can someone who has actually used the Cronusmax answer the question?
Sell the CSR and get the Xbox and the TMX.
Besides the "Emulating a Controller" bit there's this from down in the comments...Personally I’m going to build a PC and take my CSR with me, but since you’re completly set on getting an Xbox, then ditch the thought of getting the Cronousmax. It’s a patch job at best.
OK, fair enough.
Against my better judgment I went ahead and ordered this anyway. Got it up and running… it works, but not well at all. On center precision is non-existent no matter what settings I try, which makes correcting a spin impossible.
Factoring in that this thing cost $90 and I had to spend another $20 for a Microsoft wireless receiver, the $200 Thrustmaster is asking for the TMX seems more than reasonable. Just a little bummed that getting decent pedals and a shifter brings it up to the price of a Fanatec CSL… being that I already have the CSR pedals I think I may just pony up and get shifters too.
