Conclusion after Update 7

Maybe you didn’t understand so I’ll explain you one more time.
I pay the subscription since day one of game pass cause I have 3 sons that use It, I used to play forza Motorsport 7 but to do this I had to buy It, the new forza Motorsport came day one on game pass so for me it is really for free.
You bought it after you spent money on game pass for two months Just to play It and you think you’re smart After what happened to the crew…
Take a screen for the next time

The Crew

I obviously missed the point. If the game was free for you, what does that mean for others who paid $100? Do they feel less bad now? Or do you want to tell us that you were smarter?

The thread talks about update 7 and the post of the man i asked the questione talk about a free dlc,
Now update 7 Is free only for me or people asking for games for free?
I’m Sorry for you buy you clearly missed the point…

I was referring to that.

Stop picking on me! I know it isn’t free. But there are other games I have access to. So it’s better for me and I don’t feel like I got the shaft for buying a bunch of junk.:rofl::rofl:

I don’t pretend to be any expert on licensing. But when it comes to the company logos, I doubt there are any licensing issues. Almost all automotive parts suppliers want their logos out there being seen. And I doubt if they care whether it’s on a video game car or a real car. And if you have their stickers on your race car, most major manufacturers pay contingency money depending on your placement in a race.

So if the logos aren’t in the game, it’s most likely an internal issue.

Everything trademarked cost money to use for the most part. Im sure theres instances where what you said happens, but the fact thay they removed these things from the game and replaced them with their own fake stuff leads me to believe its the licensing. Not licensing issues, more like licensing cost, costs that wont go away if you continually sell a product that these logos are in.

I’m also frustrated because I actually still really enjoy playing Forza. I’ve played over 600 hours and still love it. Mainly multiplayer and that is also my main concern for changes. Turn10 should finally start weeding out the bad apples. In the end, I don’t care whether I end up in lobbies with only 10 players. If they all behave rationally and are interested in real racing, I prefer that any time.
Every month I hope that something will finally be done about the penalty system, but I am disappointed. They have the telemetry, it can’t be that hard to punish the right people. And then put them into their own lobbies.
A lot of pressure would also be removed if there were finally drag races and drift races. That would certainly be a good magnet where the Rammers could let off steam.
I so often see drivers sliding around corners, causing accidents.

Another issue is the lack of content. From my point of view, and I already wrote this in the last update, it is not enough to bring one track every month and four cars - which are also old models. Where are the new race cars, new supercars, classics, etc.?
We need packages with 3-5 tracks and 20 cars. Simple as that.

I would even play single player if there were challenges, time trials, etc. The rival mode is a good approach and could be expanded with little effort.
Unfortunately, none of us know what Turn10 actually does. Communication only takes place once a month when they announce their mini changes.
I’ve even tried to get information on YT, namely from Race Boy77. Unfortunately, you either get no answer or a stupid one.
Well, he’s probably not allowed to say anything and the people in charge would be asked here.
I have no idea whether MS still wants to put money and energy into it, but from my point of view Forza is already a prestige object and direct competition to GT7.
That’s why I’m amazed at how they handle this game.

And Mercedes has enough money to pay IWC to be allowed to stick their Logo on Lewis car? Interesting point of view.

Logos on f1 cars are sponsors, not the same situation as this. Theres been instances of sponsors in video games though, like burger king in a few need for speeds.

The problem with licenses is that they end at some point. It doesn’t matter if it’s cars, manufacturer logos, tracks or music. You always gotta extend the license else you gotta remove all these things from your game.

Remember when Porsche only were present in Need for Speed games for like 10 years or something? Yeah because EA had EXCLUSIVE rights to show them in their games, nobody else had the right to do that.

Edit:
It was 16 years:

I remember Gran Turismo (Polyphony Digital) had RUF in their games then, i mean they are Porsche too, but the tuned even more awesome type of Porsche.

I wish Forza had RUF in their games. The CTR2 is awesome.

Listen to that thing.

Forza used to have ruf’s

I didn’t know that. I started playing Forza when it first got released for PC. So Forza Motorsport 6 Apex was the first i ever played. Then FH3, FM7. FH4, FH5 and then FM2023.

I only played Gran Turismo 1-4 before that and then only Need for Speed until Forza was released for PC. Well there never really were any Simcades for PC before Forza Motorsport.

In FM4 as I recall.

I want to drive RUF in the current Forza games. It’s just a handful of cars.

There are so many RUF, well if they ever care about it. But a handful would already be enough for me.

The RTR look pretty cool with it’s widebody. Well of the newer ones.

CTR3 also is nice, it looks a bit like a Carrera GT but not fully.

Even when they have the licenses they aren’t using them. You go to the manufacturer logos and you will see there is a trademarked Pennzoil logo- then drive Grand Oak, and what does the banner across the track read? Flowzoil.

Not sure if it was an oversight or intentional, but that one is kinda obvious.

If it was an issue with licensing, T10 wouldn’t allow users to build their own user generated manufacturer logos. It would constitute a violation of licensing and trademark laws. If the manufacturers allow their logos to be used by user generated facsimiles it is an implied right of usage. If T10 allows those user generated facsimiles it implies that T10 also has right of usage.

This is how implied usage works with copyright and trademark laws. Like I’ve said, I’m no lawyer and no expert on video game licensing. But with 24 years experience as a professional photographer and some 10 years experience in Radio and Professional Audio I do know about copyright and trademark laws. I could be wrong, but I could be right.
