I was trying to look for a co-op race for the S1 retro super car event for this week’s #Forzathon. During the time it took to look for an event to join, I was driving around in the Toyota Trueno for fun. After I accepted the matchmaking to find other racers, the game displayed the incorrect event name. I thought nothing of it at the time as it had happened previously. After waiting a few minutes for the game to connect me to an event, I found myself in the A class trucks event still driving the Trueno. This was fairly surprising, but I found myself in the final race of that event, some sort of sprint. I completed the race and the game had said I completed the championship. I suppose I’m happy for completing a championship, though I am still left confused on how I joined the event on the final race and in an incorrect vehicle (the Trueno was an A class at the time if that makes any difference).
It’s a bug that was supposedly fixed. Some players previously (and may still be doing) took advantage to use different cars to what was mandated. For fixed car championships if you check the leaderboards you can see a lot of times by players in different cars.
Counter to that I noticed 2 of my friends had done some events in the right car, but at a much lower PI. That’s definitely not a conscious choice so I think the game is still glitching people into the wrong cars for certain events.
Seems the game put Sk00byD in the wrong category of races. The retro super cars is an horizon open event. The truck race should be a horizon tour event. Though the tour is some kind of different thing, other like the open races the players should not have the possibilites to get access to running championships. But I got that at the “Heavy Hitters” Forza Tour too where we won the first race with five human players, the second race with three human players, and the third with four human players.
With that multiplayer mechanic, where players can join existing tournaments, I am glad, we don’t have ranked multiplayer yet. It would be not nice to get down in the ranks because the circumstance that the game throws you only in the third race of three or even worse in the last race of a five turn tournament.
