I’m sorry but blind racing is slower than broken areo. He never raced with steering wheel bar in the center of his vision/apex/and other cars… I get it that steering wheel was hight, great move his eyes 2 cm and it will be ok, bcs it won’t be in the center of the black bar…
No, I’m telling you that Danica Patrick, whom is 5’2" and won several championships, was able to see without any issue in a similarly setup car. I doubt the Forza driver is shorter than 5’2". I don’t know how else to explain it, you’ve had a few people tell you this is correct and refuse to believe it.
Why do you think that Danica Patrick view is reflected in FM7? [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D]
Except that in real life, the car cockpit is built around the driver. Patrick would have a custom seat made just for her so she sat in the car exactly as she wants to and would have the position and sightline that she wants.
The problem in the game with cockpit view, and not allowing to adjust it as you can in some other games, is that you cant accommodate different preferences for how people want to see out and its programmed the way that some developer, who is likely not a car person, sees and designs it.
If developer X gets into the sample car and cant see over the steering wheel, it seems that is the way T10 designs the cockpit view for that car. Doesnt take into account that the developer may be 5’8" while the driver was 6’2" and has a very low seat in the car.
The game also cannot take into account the ability to move your head when in real life. In real life, if my A-pillar blocks a certain view, I can move my head and see around it. I can lift my head if I need to see over the dash for some reason and I can mentally block out reflections in the window by looking and focusing past them and down the road.
None of this can be done in game, which makes things more difficult at times and why I think sometimes the reflections are also overdone a bit.
But most of this could be solved if T10 just allowed us to make adjustments to cockpit view. As much as Pcars was a trainwreck of a game, the best option was to be able to adjust the cockpit view up and down and forward and backward to create your own view inside the car. If you wanted more road, you raised the position. If you wanted more field of view, you moved it back. It was great to customize what you wanted to see and what you didnt. I was hoping that T10 would have added that feature to this version since they were now allowing you to get rid of the wheel if you wanted. But it seems that may not have happened (I guess we may still see in final version).
I know what you mean by it being broken though. There are many cars in the game where the view just doesnt make sense as its obviously not how the driver probably would have driven the car. There are cars I simply cannot drive, though would love to, simply because the cockpit view is so jacked. A simple custom adjustment would make all the difference in the world.
Looking at this car in Forza 6 now and the field of view looks the same, same amount of mirrors shown, position of the front wheels and dials, however the steering wheels seems to be moved a lot closer to the camera in the Forza 7 screen grab. In FM6 I can see the bottom of the steering wheel but I also have a better view of the track.
It’s possible this could be the closer view they created for wheel users, although that doesn’t make sense with the wheel still being in place and not removed for this view.
Also on the Forza 6 view, the top of the windscreen can be seen above the wheel and the drivers hands are a lot smaller (the outer hole can been seen) plus I can see the suspension and stub axel. It does feel like the drivers head has been moved down and angled more straight (opposed to looking slightly down in FM6) and along with the mahoosive hands that have made it look odd.
I cant upload anything but a quick search of Forza 6 Ferrari F158 on google brings up cockpit pics. I imagine it will be like the California T and Challenger Hellcat in FM6 that were way too low but were patched fairly quickly.

The new fm7 in car view moves you forward and allows your own wheel to be the only one in view…much more realistic.
I’ll try to put an end to this once and for all. The view is not broken and even if the height of the view is too small (which I’m 99% sure it isn’t) that doesn’t make the view “broken”. We own a 1999 BMW Z3 and I’m only 5 foot 9. It’d be like me stepping in and saying “nope can’t see enough the car’s broken!” and the taking it to my mechanic. The view is not broken. The seating position in F1 cars in general is extremely low, even in modern cars. Just use a different view if you don’t like it smh…
