The 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport is a rare, high-performance race car that was built to be a “Cobra Killer”:
Rarity: Only five were built, and two were converted to roadsters.
Engine: The original car had a 360 horsepower, 327 CID fuel injected motor. The Grand Sport was also powered by a 406 cubic inch small block Chevy engine with 550 horsepower.
Transmission: The original car had a Borg Warner T-10 4-speed manual transmission.
Wheelbase: The Grand Sport had a 98 inch wheelbase.
Weight: The Grand Sport weighed 2150 pounds.
Suspension: The Grand Sport had a new rear suspension array that was lighter than the solid axle of previous generations.
Impact: The Grand Sport’s impact on the automotive world is still felt today, and it contributed to the induction of Zora Arkus-Duntov into many automotive halls of fame.
