The RPM needle in the gauge seems bugged. It lights up when sunlight hits it. But when driving in the dark it’s just a black line as the rest of the cluster is lit up.
Same if no direct sunlight hits the gauge cluster, the RPM needle is just black.
No that perfectly makes sense. In that period Japanese cars were not allowed to go faster than 180km/h from factory. That’s why you’ll see a lot of Jap cars from that period with a speedo only going to 180.
It does make sense considering it was mandatory on JDM cars of the time. What doesn’t make sense is using a USDM 1993 RX-7 Touring body for a JDM version.
Did not know that! But I have noticed it on the NSX and was wondering if the speed gauge perhaps said km/h when it was intended to be mph or something.
Then I know that’s working as intended, learned something new today!
Mazda RX7 rpm and other gauges dial needles are not illuminated at all at night, also they are pretty impossible to see at daytime too, i also noticed this on some other cars too with analog dials
Yes, in some cars it is the needles that either go on and off or not at all, in almost all others the display is always set to night and the interior lights are always active, same as in FH5
